Great for Sorting Out Speaker Wires on Surround Sound System
I disassembled the surround system in travel van, but forgot to marked the wire pair combinations. I went back to install a surround round receiver but could not figure out the matched speaker pairs and their respective location nor could I see the backs of the factory install speakers to identify wire colors. This device sends out a test tone once the two correct wires are connected via hit or miss each wire pairing. My system is all connected and working great now with the aid of this device. I recommend it for the prescribe use mentioned.

Perfect Fit to my needs.
it was great for testing my drivers in my AR 93 spoakers after replacing the foam.

Works well for speaker verification
Easy to use but could be significantly improved by using higher quality alligator clip covers. They used really cheap, slick covers which come off easily and it is very difficult to keep the clip from twisting as you hold them open. More minor issues are it doesn't go down as low in freq as I'd like and it would help to have at least decade markings on freq pot.

Simple and effective
I will begin by saying there are very few instructions on how to use this very versatile tool in the packing but you-tube can remedy that in a heartbeat. This tester should do everything you need it to do. Don't expect $200 level of functionality from a $40 part and you'll be golden. Oh, and don't hit the "on" button unless you need to generate a tone and with the polarity checker you should just checking the direction the speaker travel.

Pricey, but worth it
I just received this tester and first used it yesterday. I was tracing out ceiling and wall speakers and speaker wire polarity in a large in-wall/in-ceiling system that I installed when we built our house several years ago. This little tester saved me HOURS over the wires to flashlight battery method I had been using. The tone generator is fantastic for telling which wires go to which speaker. As I said, it is pricey, but I wish I had bought it earlier - I would have saved s-o-o-o much time and prevented s-o-o-o much frustration. Use this and a toner and you are set. Highly recommended.

This has been a lifesaver when doing car audio and home theatre
If I could only have 1 tool when working on any audio system this would be it hands down! It might seem cheap and simple, but the functionality it gives is remarkable for the cost! Sure - it does simple things, but finding an All-In-One solution like this is extremely rare. 10/10 would recommend to anyone about to work on any audio system to check polarity, RCA connectivity, testing crossovers with tones, and other uses.

Awesome tool
I had speakers in the ceiling and wires dangling from walls. This tool helped me determine which speakers belong to which wires. If that's your purpose, this is a solid buy.
