This thing works fantastic! Get my PPM from 338 to 12 PPM. I use it for my plants takes about 18 hrs to fill a 33 gallon trash barrel. Lasts over a year, old one could've probably went longer it was at 14 PPM when I took it out just be careful dont be jossiling it around the lines could get messed up and save the spare pieces they send you.

Important, please read! Could save you $$
I purchased this system for our family of 3, plus pets and plants. I installed it under the kitchen sink along with a couple of other components, but I quickly learned a few things to help others with if its your first time or if it's been a while. I broke it apart into sections so skip to what you need or read all three. It's not too overly verbose :) The sections are - this product kit itself, the installation of the system, and optional components that will improve your system's efficiency, meaning you waste less water through the filtration process itself.10 second version on how RO works: High pressure water is prefiltered and then pushed into an RO membrane - which is the reverse osmosis filter, with a pore size of approximately 0.0001 micron. That's nerd talk for super filter. After an additional filter, it can go right to the spigot for drinking, or you can run it through a mineralizer first - that's what gives it that nice, mountain spring water like taste.Notes on the RO Kit (Reverse Osmosis):Great price for the components, extra filters is great. The TANK - please DO NOT adjust the pressure by pushing in on the bike tire looking relief valve at the bottom of the tank. It's pre-set to the right pressure from their factory. It uses a bladder to help pressurize your water in the tank to deliver it more quickly to the spigot.--There is a connector piece with blue release tabs - the rest of the normal connectors are white. The blue one is your ONE WAY CHECK VALVE, and should be installed correctly already. I moved the position of mine when replumbing to be on the outlet side of the 5th filter.--The filter 'brackets' for mounting them are pretty flimsy, consider mounting or zip-tie into place.--- This Kit does create a lot of condensation on the bottom three filters, enough so that I had to make a drain trough.--- There IS an automatic shut-off valve pre-installed onto the mounting panel. It's the white valve with 4 lines coming out of it. This NEEDS your tank setup properly to work, as it uses the tank pressure to know when to shutoff water to the system.INSTALLATION:PERMEATE PUMP - this is the miracle worker, it uses a clever diaphragm system to increase the water output of the system and does so by using the discharge waste water pressure. This makes them at least a 1:1 efficiency or better. Without it, it produces 1:3 (water to waste ratio).I added a remineralization filter to mine then out to the spigot. I also added a 3-way splitter to a shut-off valve for my ice-maker line, which I installed on the outlet of the mineralizer right before the spigot.WITH A PERMEATE PUMP, ON 85psi INCOMING WATER PRESSURE, IT PRODUCES A LITER OF WATER IN 3 MINUTES. That's 125 gallons per day, a 25% improvement in water production with a decrease of 250 gallons of waste water, per day. Obviously you'd have to run it 24/7 for that, but you get the idea.CONSIDER ADDING: a permeate pump, a psi gauge on the incoming side of the water in your RO system, a remineralization filter (put it inline after your last filter), an additional water shut off valve, and a mounting panel to attach all the components to before putting the mounting panel in its under-sink position. Last thing - make sure to leave room under your sink for your water tank.EDIT: 4 months later, works great and we love it. The cats love the water in their fountain, and we enjoy not carrying 5-gallon jugs of water in from the car every weekend. :)

Don't buy, cannot get replacement filters
The product page clearly describes the replacement filters are available through Amazon, but they are not. Also, there is a residue that floats on the filtered water, looks like white fibers.

Great Reverse Osmosis
We purchased this unit, wondering if it was going to give us better water. We have a well and a water softener and my wife didn't love the taste of the water and I didn't like to use the water softener for working with plants. Our configuration was to just run the RO to the refrigerator so we didn't use the faucet. The start of this story was not super, but after the outstanding customer support I was able to install and had great tasting water. It did the job we were looking for it to do. 5 start rating for unit and customer service.More details:What I loved about this unit is that it had literally everything I needed to put it in.I have to say, this is the first time I've used the quick connect and it was intimidating and worrisome. But after using it and learning that you just have to push the outside ring inwards to get the pipe out and the little blue c rings keep that ring out, thus not allowing the plastic pipe to come out unwanted, I was relived. And they are so easy to work with, it is almost embarrasingly easy! The seller ships the unit with a pretty much plug and play manner, but also includes extras like water line, multiple quick connect adapters, the valve you can use and the sink faucet. Even Teflon tape.As with most instructions, reading them made the installation easier. Even the diagram on the instructions to take off the pipe would have saved me watching youtube videos on the topic. To install, you basically have to connect 4 lines to/from the unit. IN, OUT, DRAIN and TANK.I installed it in phases by connecting a 1/4" plastic pipe to the quick connect, into a 1gal water container.* starting at the line going into the pressure regulator - making sure water was coming from the line* out of the regulator* out of the unit* final configuration before connecting it to my refrigeratorBottom line is this worked great and I am very pleased. One thing to remember with the RO systems. The water goes through a bunch of filtration and then goes through a membrane, and the pressure is controlled by a pressure valve. Therefore, if you run the water directly through the RO, the water doesn't run fast. it took about 7 minutes to fill 12 cups of water when I first connected it up. About 30 minutes later, the 12 cups took less than a minute....more...Once the system is in its final state and if you leave it be for 15 minutes or so, the water comes out of the faucet (in my case refrigerator) like you'd expect. This is caused by that water tank that comes with the unit.
