I’ve had my 2010 X1 for 12 years and have for the last 5 years used local garages rather than BMW to service. I had an amber warning light for the engine pop up on dash and tried to get one of the local garages to investigate, but earliest slot was 2 weeks, so decided to look at how I could solve myself. Looked at a number of these diagnosis units ranging from £40 to £2k, but I needed one that works on BMW and reading reviews this seemed to be able. Connected unit to my car and very easy menu to follow with dedicated icon for BMW, my car on list and unit scanned faults and came up with the picture attached. Quick google to find out what the fault was and was air sensor in engine, found it in car, found part number and ordered through car parts online, installed 3 days later, used Autophix to check and clear and now all good and Amber light gone. Have driven 1k since and all still fine.

This unit plugged straight into the port on my BMW 530i and the app downloaded into my Android tablet with no problems. Once installed, it automatically updated itself to the latest version and then found the Scanner. I then told it the make of my car and it performed a scan. I then performed a deeper scan, and it found the errors that had caused the car to run eratically. Great value and cost about the same as a scan at a local garage. In future scans for problems will cost me no more. It is also compatible with a wide range of other vehicles, so I can see other family members wanting to use it too. An added bonus is that unlike some other scanners, the software updates are free and there is no need to sign up for annual updates. OK, the device uses an Android (8 or later) or Apple device to read the outputs and perform the scans, but as most people have one of these devices already, what is the point of paying more for a device with a computer and display built in? I used it in conjunction with both my Android phone and Android tablet with no probelms with either of them. I preferred to use the tablet as the results are more readily visible on the larger screen (better for watching real-time data such as fuel pressures, temperatures, rpm data etc.Overall a great little device which connects seamlessly using bluetooth, and does the job for which it was bought (identifying misfires on 2 cylinders and a blocked fuel filter).

No point buying the pro version unless you really know what you are doing

Would definitely recommend works and works fast app interface is easy to understand for your average guy cleared a SRS code on a Mercedes for this price you can’t complain

Very good tool , I used this to clear the SRS airbag code from my Mercedes Benz SLK R171. If you have a Mercedes just be careful as when you have to download the car park it's listed as "Benz" not Mercedes or Mercedes Benz.

Will not communicate with my e class 2014 to complete a “depth” scan which allows the abs to be inspected/reset
