Exactly what is advertised
I believe it could have had a bit more content, but it arrived perfect and with everything needed. Even when not using the Werewolf scenario you can use the character from the box.The basegame is already unbalanced as it is, so having 7 players in game does not mess with it if you scale for 1 more step.

Great Expansion but def has its flaws.
TLDR: these expansions aren't like Widows walk from 2nd ed. They are good add-ons don't add much to the game, it's more like playing a heavily limited separate game you use the base game to play with.I have been a fan of Betrayal for quite some time ever since I was introduced to it some 8+ years ago. The thing I loved about Betrayal 2nd edition and its expansion Widows Walk is the way it adds to the game without sacrificing the original game. Widows Walk added more items, omens, events, rooms, and 50 more haunts that can be played alongside the base game and it was fantastic. When I got these expansions for 3rd ed I was super excited because I thought that surely Wizards of the coast would do the same with these expansions, I was fine with the lower amount of items events omens, and rooms, I genuinely thought that we could play the base game with the 5 new haunts and characters like widows walk. turns out that's not the case. When you play the expansions, you are limited to 1 of 5 haunts from the expansion only, you cannot get a haunt from the base game, which means that if you wanted to playhtest the new characters with the original haunts the game gives you, you cannot. the same goes for the items, events, omens and events the expansions add.You also cannot play both expansions together. you either play Yuletide and its 5 Haunts, or you play Werewolf Expansion and its 5 Haunts, or you play the base game. For me, this is kind of a let downWith all that being said though, the theme of the expansions are great, there a lot of lore and even comic books that are a nice addition as well. all the haunts I've played so far are fun.the expansions are priced very well in my opinion but i don't think i would have bought them if I had known that they weren't so inclusive with one another.

My son loved it
My son participates in a board game club at school. They enjoy playing these games where you build on as you go, which is what betrayal is like. I bought him this extension pack for his birthday and it was a surprise that he was super excited about and couldn’t wait to bring to his club. Highly recommend. Great strategy game.
