PROS:1) Quality construction from solid oak.2) Looks far more expensive3) Seats 3 slim people or 2 larger people4) Easy to assemble (just adding legs to the bench)5) Looks great!CONS: NONE!BUY THIS BENCH! That's the simple message I'll give to you. We've just spent a few pounds short of £2k for a hand made solid oak snooker dining table (Ian Donohoe). We bought two of these benches to fit 4 people, but they'll fit 6 of my family and we're shocked at how good they are. Especially since when we went buy they were more expensive. They are sturdy, heavy and solidly built with good quality fixings which include a flat washer and a spring washer. The spring washer says it all. That's attention to detail to ensure the nut is kept under tension. A lot of companies would have supplied a wing nut and a flat washer. However, this has been supplied with a nut and both a flat washer (to spread the load) and the spring washer.The bench is comfortable to sit on and sitting on one end doesn't destabilise it. I surmise that this bench would accommodate 40 stone/200kg easily. It really does look far more expensive than it is. The one star reviews on here are due to user error. It's quite clearly an indoor bench, and the customer who left it outside in the rain obviously doesn't read the description. I heartily recommend this bench and at a fraction of the price of similar benches you can't go wrong.

My expectations were higher after reading the reviews and when the item arrived it definitely met them. I am so pleased, the bench is solid oak. You get so much for your money. It looks and feels amazing quality. Very sturdy, you will not be disappointed. Easy to assemble too.

Great size for the space I have available. Solid construction. Easy to assemble. Lovely looking piece of furniture.

This bench is attractive and sturdy, easy to assemble, complementing my other Julian Bowen furniture items (Kitchen Table and Chairs).A good price for a solid oak item, although sadly, whether through bad luck or damage, after after only six months, a small part of the top layer has chipped off. Whether or not this was the result of an impact which damaged the surface is unknown, although I wouldn't normally expect this to happen with a piece of solid oak furniture.However, all other Julian Bowen items I have purchased are still in great condition, look great, and are perfectly functional. The bench still looks great, and can comfortably seat about 3 'average sized' people without creaking as though it may give way.

I have had this for a couple of weeks. Assembly was easy, build seems sturdy, so hopefully none of the longevity issues that other reviewers have mentioned. seemingly no defects with the wood.

I bought two to go with my dining table, they are beautifully made, good quality, look great & were easy for me to assemble. The system for affixing the legs means that the benches are really stable once put together. Very pleased: these are good value plus they arrived speedily.

I love this bench - it is well made and looks great, in fact I am actually wondering whether to make it act as a table and a bench as it is so nice. I have small rooms and it fits in beautifully as a coffee table too so I was thinking of making it work as a coffee table (as it's not so wide as most coffee tables) and if I want to pull down my folded dining table I can then use it as a bench for that so it can fulfil both rolls quite happily and it saves space so I can use my back room as a sitting room and a dining room. when necessary.

I have brought an extendable table and when we have first having an extra bench is useful. This is fantastic. High quality real oak. Sturdy and super easy to build. Literally just add the legs. The bolts are already ordered with nuts in correct place. Fantastic item
