Great price and great product
What a brilliant home DIY car repair welder, I am a qualified mechanic and needed a home welding kit for my project cars and bikes. The unit is smaller than I thought but packs a great punch, tested on a 500kg cast iron block and the results were really good the flux wire that comes in the kit is spot on and the stick weld is as good. Somewhere down the line I will get the tig adapter for it, but as is I would recomend it. 5******

You'll be surprised by this!?
I got this last week and within a couple of hours had set it up and started gasless mig welding. I wrote a review but thought I should wait till I have used it a few times and give it a proper check.I'd only ever done a bit of arc welding in the past and was worried that this would be a steep learning curve- but it wasn't. It's a breeze to use. I wish I had gotten one sooner. Here's some tips - the manual isn't brilliant , so you need to spend 20 minutes carefully getting it set up.Get the wire spool, but don't untie the end of it until you have put it on the spool holder in the machine - then when you are ready to cut with snips, grab the end so it doesn't flap loose , and hold the plastic spool at the same time to stop it spinning. Then thread the wire into the bit that looks like a spring , the wire should be coming off the spool in anti clockwise direction (ie from the bottom), and then start to get it ready to go through the 2 small wheels - then plug it in (comes with uk plug) ,power it up with button on the back , connect the gun/torch end and press the trigger and it will feed the wire through, all the way to the tip and leave 5mm or so showing.Plug the ground connector in and then you are ready to go. It's that simple.Use a few pieces of scrap to work out what power setting you need and then the machine pretty much does it for you in terms of wire feed speed. If you have it too high on thinner pieces you'll soon find out as it will just blow holes right through your metal. If you have it too low, you'll be able to just see that it's not penetrating and spatters around the surface of the metal.I am just a hobbyist and tinkerer , but I am pretty sure this is a very good , solid machine. I have a mate with a very expensive one, and he's always messing about with the wire feed and it blocking and sticking - so far this has had zero problems and 100% satisfaction. It's portable and easy to use. Only downside that I can see is that the manual could be better, and be clearer. It comes with a flux core wire spool that will last you a while too. The brush isn't great either but I think it's false economy with the machines that have a mask and brush and extras , as they arent great and you just want a good machine, which this is , no doubt.By the way - I ordered in the morning and it was here by 6pm the same night. Amazing really. Good company.Yes, I was surprised - I wasn't sure it would be any good at all, but the 30 day money back guarantee clinched it for me.Happy Days!

Decent machine. Could do with manual settings control.
Great little machine , but only 4 stars because of the following:Supplied manual, is old, and doesn’t even have the same polarity shown in manual pictures as the machine delivered. As in positive and negative outputs are flipped- so question is the manual right? Or is the machine right, but manual wasn’t updated? Also manual doesn’t have anything to describe what the co2 and co2mix modes supposed to be?And last negative, earth clamp, way too short, i was welding under a car, and if it wasn’t for me using earth clamp from my tig machine, this welder would have to come right next to me in order for earth clamp to be usable.Positives :All cables are nice and thick. The wire feed mechanism, straight forward, seens to do the job, but again lack of explanation in manual, so what the pressure supposed to be , beats me, but positive because it seemed to be very tolerant from no pressure applied on feeder, to half pressure, machine just fed wire no problem.neutral: i come from hobby tig welding, i like the ability to set my settings. This has the automatic wire feed option based on voltage and current you set. For me that gives mixed results because for one you got no more control over pre and post flow gas time, critical for gas work especially outside, and the lack of burn back control is also critical to manually set up. To get good penetration i found myself to have to use 16v on 1.2mm and 90”amps” . But at that amp setting, wire starts shooting off at light speed so to say, and you need to wait a few seconds for machine to slow down (auto-adjust). If i turned amps down to 80 amps to have a good wire feed out of the gate, then i found that i lack penetration - to note i was using 5%co2 and 95 argon mix because of availability in local stores, but this isn’t an issue with manual mig welders because you can set them up to suit. Perhaps program would work well with 20% co2 if that’s what they intend it for? So honestly not quite a fan of this auto stuff, however from an ease of use i get why it’s appealing to most users - within 15 min of receiving the item i was already welding.Decent machine, and lastly i need to now contact seller to get a decent manual, especially due to lack of manual control I really need to understand what they mean with their automatic weld modes in order to be able to make most of it.

Great bit of kit to learn how to weld
The media could not be loaded. First of all I want to say that I have only used a gas mig welder once a couple of years ago. This was incredibly easy to setup, the instructions are pretty crap, as they don’t actually show how to setup the wire, but I found a great YouTube video.I bought a good set of gloves and mask also from Amazon to go along with this as the machines that come with masks and gloves are usually 💩!I bought this machine to learn, I was keen to get a gas mig welder for a while, but because I am only a hobbyist and keeping gas and the space is a bit much, I chose gas less.Obviously there is more ‘splatter’ with gas less, but you make sacrifices for the portability, cost and convenience.I had a go the same evening it arrived welding some old brake pads to brake discs (this is all I had lying around), but the goal is to get good enough to do bits on my car (doors etc).Only tip I will give readers - when setting it up, it may sound obvious, but keep a finger pressed on the roll of wire until you’ve fed it into the machine, if you lift it even slightly like I did, the spool springs off and you lose about a quarter of the roll….
