Works great! You can check the watts being used and voltage. You can also put in the amount per kilowatt to see how much your spending on electric. Well worth the price.

This energy meter plug is a valuable tool for monitoring and managing energy consumption at home. I'm particularly impressed with the dedicated buttons for each display mode, making it easy to quickly access the information I need without having to press the same button a dozen times. I'm currently using it to track the energy usage of a small electric heater, and it accurately displays power consumption and cost. The backlit LCD screen is bright and easy to read, although the running time display is limited to two digits, which can be an inconvenience after 100 hours of use as the digits reset. Despite this drawback, this meter seems well-designed and works well for keeping track of electricity costs.

This gives me the power usage of items plugged into it. I am monitoring the power used by my AC. I had a good idea of the power so I could replace the AC power with a UPS and 4 solar panels. I couldn't just use the power rating because that was not the actual average power usage. Now I'll use it on the UPS to see how much I save using solar on this appliance.The power usage is not always what the device says, at least while being used.Super easy to use, literally plug and play. It appears high quality and durable so I feel confident using this for this application.

It's inexpensive, but it works. Don't expect solid construction and if you drop it, it will probably break. If you handle it gently though, it will do what it says! I bought it to check the power draw of appliances to verify what my backup can handle, and it works great for that.

I have tried a lot of these cheaper ones and this one is the closest one to an actual killa watt that functions perfectly real easy to set up and no issues even works on my solar panels

I purchase two of these HBN plug-in electric meters in mid December of 2023. I read the reviews and noticed the number one complaint with these meters was the lack of any backlight. However, I still like the simplicity of this meter and being able to push any one button, one time to get the info I am looking for. Instead of pushing a button several times and scrolling through a menu and finally landing on the info I am looking for. So, even though they had no backlight, I still bought two of them anyway. Not to mention, the price was also the best of all the meters similar to this. Once they arrived and I plunged in the first meter, I was VERY surprised to see they updated the meter design and added a backlight.... but the price is still the same. Probably the best bang for the buck when looking for a meter like this. The one problem I noticed is.... they are not super accurate. I have two identical meters plugged into the same power strip right next to each other and the voltage difference between the two meters is 0.8 of a volt. Again, see picture. Normally I would say that is not acceptable, but this is not the kind of meter to buy if/when looking for extreme accuracy. As long as these meters are within a volt or two from each other that is good enough for me when I am just looking for ballpark figures. If I was doing any serious testing, I would be using high quality meters, not the cheapest meter found on Amazon. Yes, I would buy again...... and I probably will.
