Works good on my Hunter Fan but buzzes on start up
Works good and glad to get my remote back on my fan (lost the og one) I bought this because it had more functions and it is an upgrade but It does buzz on start up and clicks when switching modes but ill live with it for the convenience.

Easy installation
I used this remote unit for a Hunter fan in my bedroom. Not as good as Hampton Bay but it's functional. I was hoping that this remote unit would also dim the lights but it is strictly on and off. The fan controls are awesome and the thermostat works great. I can't complain, my fan was given to me and for the cost of this remote control system, it's increased the look and charm of my bedroom and increased the value of the property

Light control
Generally the fan control works fine, I like the automatic function to turn the fan on when it gets warm in the room.Had a problem with the light control, the light would come on randomly with no one around. It would do that on either light type setting. Got around that bypassing the remote control and wiring the light to the wall switch.

Thermostat requires manual operation.
A thermostat is supposed to turn things on and off automatically, correct? This item (or the one I received anyway), will only do it once! After that, you have to hit the FAN AUTO button again. So, you hit fan auto, the room warms up and the fan starts. The room cools off, and it does not stop. You have to press FAN AUTO again. Then, it will see the room is cool and shut off. Once off, press FAN AUTO and it will be ready for the next time the room warms up.In the winter, when my furnace runs, my rooms get warm at the ceiling because heat rises, so I want the fan to turn on. But I don't want it to stay on after the furnace kicks off, because it gets drafty. I figured placing the remote by a furnace duct would be my solution. Well, it IS! Just not with this remote. Search for the other one that is here on Amazon with the LCD display. That one works perfectly for me.

Wished it was smaller
Got it working, was easy to install, barely jammed it in the tight space above the "Socket-Joint" bracket, but it is in there. It is weird that these are still this big with how tech works. There really doesn't seem to be any reason for these being this big still.OTHER THAN THAT, seems to work well, the remote is nice and large making it harder to misplace, even though I seem to have misplaced it at the moment of writing this. One thing to note, if you want to use the REMOTE CONTROL'S fan speed, you have to set it to the MAXIMUM fan speed of your fan, first; then you can use the remote control. It works quite well, by the way. Which makes it nice to not have to remember how many pulls on the chain you did.The timer works as expected, but these Temperature features are always just the most annoying. This goes for anything that uses this feature as an "ENERGY SAVER". These really need to be a RANGE to be effective, since if you set it to 75F, and it gets to 76; that's not that noticeable of a difference, so it constantly turns itself on and off as it dances around to get to 75F.UPDATE:The biggest issue since I have two remotes installed in close proximity to each other is:1) you need to play with the switches on the receiver and transmitter so they don't cross talk.2) if you don't do that it is super easy to get these out of sync with each other and currently have one fan at MAX speed and the other fan is at like half-speed. WHICH IS SUPER FRUSTRATING. Other than that, it seems to be working fine enough.
