YouTube Channels For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))

I highly recommend this book compared to the other most popular books surrounding modern Youtube. It is geared more towards those who are planning or are still starting out on Youtube, but the information is invaluable. It is also a nice book to refresh already established channels about modern changes/features to Youtube as well. I feel like this book is a combination of Youtube Secrets and Crushing Youtube (two popular books mainly about the same topics).What I really appreciate is the chapter dedicated entirely to Copyright and Fair Use. I've read 4 other books about Youtube in a short span of time, and none of them addressed the issue of Copyright as much as this book. It's something I think people really gloss over on modern Youtube, as it has been a temperamental topic for many years now. With Youtube's policies changing every year, this book highlighted key information for approaching content creation on Youtube in today's age.Pros:+Amazing amount of information about Youtube (metadata, equipment, tips for content creation, etc.).+Updated information regarding Youtube policies and its algorithm.+Useful pictures/links to explain the material.+Flexibility in Chapters (you don't have to read from start to finish. You can skip around a bit and still learn great amounts of info).Neutral:-Not all chapters will likely apply to everyone in this book. But the amount of useful information in this book compared to others books about Youtube still succeeds over them.I really appreciate the authors taking the time to explain the ins and outs of Youtube in such a well constructed, detailed book. This is the best option for understanding modern Youtube right now imo. From helping create awesome content to details about the mysterious algorithm. 5/5

Easy to understand from setting up a channel to modifying your channel to suit your specific needs to turning your channel into a source of income.

Has helpful hints, but not enough information for my liking.

Awesome book to start a channel with

A great book to start a channel.

The "Dummies" books are my go-to's when it comes to a compilation of basic information on many topics. I can usually count on great and useful information with wonderful graphics and a big side-helping of humor. Plus tons of added Easter eggs sprinkled throughout. "YouTube Channels for Dummies" has none of these. It is printed on some crappy gray newsprint to begin with, instead of the nice white paper all my other Dummies books have. There is NO humor, NO extra fun information, and the graphics are not color. Can you believe this? The only color is on the cover!!! The printing on many of the photos is so muddled you can't even see what they are, and the photos that are discernible contain no arrows or hints showing what it is the authors are talking about. Finally, this book is skewed towards businesses. If you are a single person looking to start a channel, don't waste your money. You can get much better information just by watching YouTube videos on starting a channel.

I decided I wanted to get rich and do modelling videos on YouTube lol. Dummies books have a solid reputation. And their layout is always good. And they present the material in an understandable way.

Still working my way through, but it is a good teaching book for YouTube. Though I have my own ideas of what I want to do, this will get me through the basics.
