Great mic with emulations
This mic sounds great by itself but it also has emulations of higher end mics but you do need a ilok dongle in order to use.but once all done it's great and I have the antelope audio zen go interface so it works better together.i got all in bundle were I got all plugins free theres like 90 instead of the 37 and also I got discount on interface and mic.so it was an extremely good deal so I tried it out.and the customer service was great no hassle might have to call couple of times but it's not bad as everyone says honestly.

Great Mic For a Solo Artist
I added this microphone to my extensive collection. I have a lot of classic mics that I've collected since the 80's. I wanted to try a modeling mic but wanted a small one for my desk. I did not need a multipattern mic at my desk and that might influence your buying choices. This one fit the bill, I have it mounted on a scissor type radio desk mount at my desk for quick access. I find this mic is very clear and stands out when I'm tracking my voice. I use the classic mic models for processing when I'm mixing. On my voice [I'm a baritone] I don't notice the models so much in solo but they do make a HUGE difference in the mix. I've been experimenting with an all virtual studio. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, a producer/engineer with an extensive discography and mostly due to the covid epidemic, I have been unable to build yet another studio. If I had one criticism I would like to see Antelope include a more effective pop filter with this mic.I've had this mic for over a year as of this writing and I have had zero problems. I have used this mic on a solo project and this one has become my favorite and I've replaced all of the other tracks where I've used other mics. I do turn the phantom power off when I'm not using the mic and though it stays on the stand on my desk, it stays covered when not in use. As to the previous negative review all I can say is that there is no manufacturer that has a zero failure rate for their products.

Worst customer support experience
First off, Antelope Audio does not support macOS Monterey despite it being released publicly for six months, so you need to make sure you have an older computer to run their software to use the microphone (you can't use the microphone without their software). This alone should've been a red flag that they couldn't ensure their USB microphone works with the OS sold on new computers. After setting the software up on an old Apple laptop, I could not get the microphone to pick up any audio levels. I contacted customer support and we went through uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, firmware, and more for about an hour. They eventually determined that it was a hardware issue and told me to contact RMA for servicing.I know things happen in shipping and don't blame them entirely for a DOA microphone. I put in an RMA request and five days later have still not even heard back from Antelope Audio with a ticket number. I even called their customer support phone line and it didn't help. I expect better customer service, especially for a $1400 professional microphone. It's not worth dealing with Antelope Audio if you can't expect any support. If you rely on audio hardware for your business, or just don't want the world's most expensive paperweight, pick a more reputable company to purchase from.

Extremely High Quality Mic
I would have REALLY loved to give this mic 5 out of 5 stars, the only thing lacking was their software. It's so primitive and takes multiple steps just to get it open. I think they do this to protect their emulation software from being stolen and used by other mics. This makes the whole user experience so much poorer for me.The build quality, sound quality, and the fact that it's USB C to USB C makes this mic one of the best ones out there. No regrets on getting it!

High self-noise
Pros: Good build quality, emulations, HPF switches, pad switches, shock mounting.Cons: Very high self noise on my SSL 2+ audio interface -- even worse on Zen Quadro noise preampsAfter website registration, I was able download mic emulation software easily.Value is decent, even with its flaws.Big con is self-noise. It was too high for me, although admittedly I do have very high standards. I think the average user may be satisfied with the product if used with the quiet preamps of an SSL usb audio interface, but the added noise of a Zen Quadro preamp would make it unacceptable for many I fear. And of course you need the Zen Quadro in order to implement the mic emulations.Sorry Antelope Audio.

4.5 stars, worth every penny
First off, getting it set up might be a bit of a hassle. I had to deactivate my Zen Q in Launcher to get it to pair with the mic model software. After I got it installed, I noticed that a lot of the emulations seemed really samey. That's because the default setting is to monitor both the mic and the emulation. To fix this, click the bar where it says "Preamp 1" or Preamp 2" etc and choose "EMU" instead. You'll then see the name of the emulation you had selected in that drop-down list of inputs...click that choice and voila, you should hear the emulation 100%. I almost returned mine before I figured that out. The emulations are both spot-on AND sound great.I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the installation process, which seems pretty common for Antelope products. They make AMAZING stuff, but getting it running to completion is a bit of an adventure.

Fantastic for the $$$
Using with an Orion Synergy Core. On drums, prefer one of the Berlin emulations to my existing Beyerdynamic MC930 mics which were $1k. Really wonderful mics for the money, highly recommended.
