A Normal Guy's Real Review
Here you go.Strait to the point:Packaging: 8/10. Enough to keep it protected and not look cheap.Initial feel: 10/10. Plastic, which is the norm these days. Design looks sleek and easy to use. The backplate is held on by a strong magnet: Makes [wall - install / config / re-config activities] easy peasy. Pull-off/Put-on at will.Setup: 9/10. New User Setup Tip: Use device ID, not the serial number. They do ask for Device ID, but they show a serial number in the app, which is confusing at a first speedy glace. Other than that, it connects through Bluetooth perfectly and asks for, but doesnt require location (for additional weather info/local radon info particiation). I like that you aren't locked into any of these, but I'm an American on the 4th of July, big surprise that I like freedom.Long term use: N/A. I'll update with pros or cons when I get that far.

Must have Active radon monitoring system every homes !!
Someone posted on ring about an elevated radon gas readings in my neighborhood. As a first time home owner, I was concerned and started looking for ways to test. The passive testing kits available on big box stores costs about $10 for the kit and $20 for the testing + shipping. For a little extra cost, this active radon monitoring device saved my day. Shipping was quicker than expected. The setup was fairly simple, connect the batteries and pair with your phone and boom you're all set to monitor radon gas levels along with other air quality metrics. This device is an absolute banger for the buck !! Highly recommend this product to everyone living in the radon active zones. Peace of mind with fraction of the cost!!

Tech Support is via their "chat" tool. It's at LEAST 24 hrs between messages. Useless!
I went big on an investment purchasing the Wave, Wave Plus, the Home Kit (includes the Hub and wave mini, etc). So, all in close to $1K investment in their products! Setup with the hub requires a bit of tech savvy to get it all working. If you are persistent and familiar with networking, you can do it. If not, look at another product or have your techie friend do it for you.I have 3 levels to my home (basement, first floor, and 2nd floor). I have a radon mitigation system operating in my house and is functioning properly. Without the system, I was getting 10-15 pCi/L readings. Definitely wanted to bing those levels down. The issue that I'm having after 8-9 months of reliable and consistent operation is my basement detector after some high humidity (maybe the cause....maybe not) was giving FALSE high readings (329 pCi/L until I pulled the batteries out). These ramping in levels now occurs approximately every 2-3 weeks (not as high as first time but I quickly would power it off after 30 pCi/L). I have to reset the unit by powering it off then on again and it seems to fix the problem for another cycle (2-3 weeks). On the off chance that the readings were real, I brought my 1st Floor monitor down to the basement and mounted it next to the basement monitor for a couple of days and both times I've done this, the 1st Floor monitor reads normally. In addition, IF the high readings were real, as the light radon gas that seeps upward to the 1st Floor and 2nd Floor, would have been caught on the other two monitors. This never happened.Being WELL within my warranty, I reached out for an exchange unit and provided the company everything they asked for (receipt, developer logs of all the monitors, photo of back of the unit, etc.). Keep in mind, there doesn't seem to be an option to actually TALK to someone to discuss or troubleshoot. It is done with their "chat" system. Worse still, the "chat" has a time delay of at LEAST 24 hrs (they must be in another country not staffing support calls for USA). Needless to say, it is HARD to carry on a simple "conversation" over the course of a week or two. Instead, I am sent a bunch of links to support articles that are not relevant to my issue. But worse, I never hear back after submitting the information after 1 or 2 exchanges they must close the support ticket out leading me to go to the chat bot again, get assigned a new support person and get ghosted. Rinse and Repeat. Airthings support is the worse I've ever seen in 40 years of dealing with tech support issues for myself, commercial clients, and friends. In summary, if you are lucky enough to get one that is working properly, GOOD for YOU!! If you actually expect to get technical or (heaven forbid) warranty support, look elsewhere! The doubling of the warranty for the units is worthless upon registration since you can't get the support to replace a unit. Worst customer support experience I ever had. If you are looking for an accurate monitor with support, do yourself a huge favor and.....LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Good detector, wish it integrated with Truya
Over all a decent detector for radon (and apparently humidity and temp as well, as most detectors throw those in) but I do not like having to use a proprietary app to see the detection values. It would go a long way for faith in the longevity of the product if they would add Truya integration so that we know if the company goes belly up we will still have a working device.

Buy one.
I took advantage of a sale price, not really knowing a lot about radon. I always assumed radon affected older homes, mine was built 22 years ago in an upscale area. I knew my levels would be normal but thought I'd check it out anyway to see if I needed to keep a window cracked in the basement or something. I thought the detector was faulty initially as was ready to return it, the levels were very high, about 12 pCi/L or about 3 times the EPA limit, and 4.5 times the EU limit. After researching, these units are actually very accurate and sensitive to radon. I actually had a real problem. I opened all windows and sealed my sump well and called a radon company. They installed a mitigation system a week later. Every home should have a radon detector, and most most homes should have a mitigation system. I had no idea I lived in Zone 1 which is the highest level. This unit was very easy to set up, configure and use. Given that radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer for non-smokers, this is a matter to be taken seriously for sure. Price was very reasonable and I'm really glad I picked this thing up.
