I put these in 2 walk in closets that have a single light fixture where the bulb points straight down and has a pull chain. These work perfectly in that situation. The second you open the door the light comes on. It goes off 30 seconds after you walk away. In my case if you leave the closet door open and walk past the door the light will also come on. It is a very bright white light. It is exactly what I needed for these 2 closets and at $18 for the pair it was the least expensive option I found.

Your own eyes will determine if these are what you want. I need bright light indoors and I'm use to the old 100w soft white bulb. These work well but aren't very bright in anything larger than a small bathroom. That's as much my fault as anything else. I'm just learning how to pick out a bulb based on what I need. I miss the days when everything was far less complicated. I'm looking for the right combination of Watts, lumens and K. It's not as easy as it seems.I give these 5 stars for their performance so far. They work well. They are what they are and I have areas that are well suited for them. If they last 2 years they'll be worth the money.

This bulb can NOT be obstructed in any way. My porch light is installed overhead with a clear glass globe and the stupid thing would not work until I removed the globe and left a bare bulb. Now I have to find a shade that is open on the bottom. Second annoying feature is that it cuts off too quickly. Other than that, I am happy with the results.

I used motion sensor homes throughout my home - I wanted to try these do to the great reviews that they had received. However my experience has been less than stellar. The lights turn on once and then nothing can get them to come back on expect unscrewing and screwing them back in place. Very disappointing but I’m guessing mine are defective as I know not to place the globe on top of the light.-----After my initial review Banord customer service reached out to correct the issue. Great customer service who went above and beyond to see to my satisfaction. Though the experience with the lights was disappointing, the after-purchase support did not make me regret my interaction with this company.

UPDATE: it has been nearly a year and I have not experienced any issues with this light. In fact, I solved the issue of a light in my laundry closet by installing one of these lights in the socket. The pull string had failed and trying to find a replacement was problematic. I have plans on installing another bulb in the exterior light at my back door after I install the new fixture. As you can tell, I am quite happy with this product and will gladly purchase more in the future. This has turned out to be one of my smartest purchases. I wish they had more than 5 stars. I wanted to replace my old exterior light with a motion detector that also had a GFCI outlet and discovered that they do not make such a combination in exterior lights. I ended up purchasing a new exterior light that had a GFCI outlet and installed this light bulb. I no longer have to leave the outside light on if I know I will be returning home at night because this light senses my truck pulling into the driveway and turns on. Plus it provides a bright enough light to startle any unsuspecting visitor. I'm completely sold on them.

Purchased these light bulbs for the front porch & back door. Now I can leave the light switch on 24 hours a day and not feel guilty using that much electricity. Both bulbs have performed flawlessly in their installations, coming on only after dark and only when motion is detected and stay on for about 1 minute, which is enough time to find the key to unlock either door and then have the light turn out once I'm inside or when I'm leaving. Even the UPS driver has commented on it during these winter months when it's dark by the time he gets here how great it is to have the steps illuminated to the front door.

Unfortunately, these lights did not work for me as described by the company. I was attempting to use one in an outdoor light. Upon turning on the switch to the outdoor light, the light would illuminate for approximately 30 seconds and then would turn off. Never to turn on again. I tested this both in the light and in the dark of the night, and the light bulb would never turn on again. Turning off the switch and waiting about 10 seconds and then turning the switch back on would once again illuminate the light. After 30 seconds it would turn off again, never to re-– illuminate no matter how much motion I made next to it. I am disappointed that this did not work out as described.

Con: Evidently does not work in an enclosed fixture.Pros: Easily and cheaply converts a plain socket into one with light and motion sensing. Will not attract as many bugs as leaving the light on.Comments:I installed these during the day and forgot about the light sensing feature so I thought they didn't work but come dark they worked just fine.These are going to be great for getting in the house after dark. No more fumbling around for the keyhole.The option before was to leave the lights on which attracts bugs. These lights will stay off most of the time saving energy and not attracting bugs.
