This is a great product. Five stars no doubt, it made the difference during my time surviving after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. I was able to charge my cell phone and hear to the news on the radio. It really helped me a lot to keep my mind busy during the energy blackout that lasted many weeks.

The radio has an impressive build quality. The options on this radio are deep. I enjoy the MP3 playback. The recording function is great! You can record the FM band in stereo! There is a scheduled record function that will wake the radio up and start recording the last station you had set. This can be set to do it every day, though I could not find a duration setting...so just have a nice capacity SD card. Especially distant stations at night.* A longer FM antenna, to improve the reception even more!* A different display, maybe an LCD display that can be read easily when the light is not active.* An active clock when the power is off on the radio.* Dedicated Sleep, Snooze and Alarm set keys.* Alert mode is to restrictive. The 600L does this right, by allowing it to stay active while still being able to use the radio and all its functions.This radio is for those who want an entertainment device and recorder. Makes a great emergency radio when your stuck having to evacuate to a shelter or different location. You can load up your SD card with tons of podcasts, music and old time radio shows(like I do). I'm really happy with this radio overall. A worthy upgrade from the basic emergency radios out there.

There's a lot going on with this radio. They recommend you keep the manual, and after working with it, I can see why; the main functions of Power, AM/FM, and NOAA (WB button) are easy enough, but the manual is helpful with the rest. The sound is better than I expected (for what it is) and it picks up the stations well. I'm always hesitant about knobs for tuning but you can use the buttons for tuning as well. The manual says you can adjust the volume with buttons but mine does not show the symbols reflected in the manual, so I don't know about that. The crank charger seems strong, but the crank handle could be stronger--worth being aware when cranking to charge. But it does come with a USB charger so the crank would only be necessary if you are without power. I haven't tried to play the radio on the solar but the manual says you can do that; I find that to be a big plus and the solar panel was one of the reasons for my purchase. It also says you can charge the battery with the solar panel, but it would be very slow. So, the solar panel is primarily to play the radio without the battery--worth keeping mind. I would rather it use a standard rechargeable battery, which would be my only real negative. The flashlight could be stronger. Overall, I am pleased with it and glad I purchased.

Finally I fount this KA700. I searched for quite long time for recording FM features in Bestbuy fries and Amazon store.KA700 is one of the best radio I have ever owned! The radio has all features that I really need and all the features are working great in all details. Let me share some that impress me much . Favorite : 1/ Sound quality is great that plays back music as it can be . 2/ the recorder is super, I bought it for purpose to record my favorite AM station, it can be set to recorder on Radio or outside voice. Plus it can be set to record at a certain time which was preset. 3/ the NOAA weather band has high sensitivity and receives well in my area . 4/ the radio charges my cellphone with no problem , 5/ the reading lamp and flash light is the best useful feature for me. 6/ the sound effects on the MP3 player is great. 7/ the Bluetooth gives a bonus for me to play my music from my iphone and hear it from the quality speaker.8/ the power source that is designed for emergency is perfect.The battery is rechargeable and last very long time.Con: there is no power adapter with it, I have to use iphone adapter to charge it .I highly recommend it to my friends and family, it is a great radio !

I bought this radio with high hopes for it's performance. I was not let down. The sound is great for such a small speaker and the radio reception is tremendous. I live in an area where I am constantly having to turn or twist the radio or it's antenna to pick up a clear station. With this KA700 every room picks up the stations and without having to compromise sound quality. I gave it a full 5 star rating based not only on the radio but customer service. They replied to my e-mails quickly and answered all my questions. I'm looking forward to the KA900 when it comes out.
