Either the tent will open so that the ladder extends off the back of your vehicle, “Rear Mounted”, or the ladder extends off the side of your vehicle, “Side Mounted”. Either orientation will work for larger vehicles, however, most sedans or smaller SUVs are better suited for the side mounted option.
