ROOSEY Women's 1950s Vintage Deep V Neck Half Sleeve Retro Cocktail Swing Dress

I reeeeally like this dress. I'm 5'6" and 200 pounds. I usually order an XL, so I ordered this dress in an XL as well -- and it fits true to size. The hemline hits just below my knees. I carry my weight in my hips and thighs (pear), so the dress is very flattering and forgiving. If you carry your weight in front of you (apple), this waistline likely won't work well. I think the neckline is sexy without being vulgar, and a low-cut push-up bra will complete the look. This one is a keeper.

It is 100% cotton, which is wonderful. Out of the bag, it was a tiny bit big, which was surprising! I would much rather it be too big than too small. After I washed and dried it in high heat, it shrunk the right amount and now it fits PERFECTLY. So, slight, slight shrinkage may occur but for me, that was what I was hoping for. The dress is exactly as shown. The bodice is LINED which is such a great detail!!! The cotton is not too thick, so it is perfect for the summer, but with the lined bodice you don't have to worry about nipples or bra lines or anything else. I can not wait to go on a date and be able to wear this beautiful dress. I'm gonna but a little waist belt to throw around it and it's gonna be wonderful. 10/10 would buy again.

The dress is a little stiff and the bust is quite large, but I love that it is made of cotton and not cheap polyester. If you’re looking for a dress to hold its shape nicely, this is the dress. It really looks better with petticoats, so if you have any tool skirt I would wear it with the dress. I did this and it looked amazing, I got a lot of compliments when I wore it. This dress is perfect for the curvy girl 1940s aesthetic, and although I am not that curvy I was able to make it work.

Love this dress - BUT - they sent me the wrong one!!!! I wanted the black with cherries and got the cream florals. I’m not a big fan on this pattern, but the dress looks nice on me and the fabric is nice with some stretch to it. I ordered a large and it was perfect. I’m 5’3, 160, hourglass shape with 38D. Guess I’ll order the one I really wanted again.

The material is very comfy and feels great! Not sure how it washes yet but I will update this after doing so. The fit is perfect using the size chart measurements specific to this style. Perfect for work or a night out, cute and can be dressed up or down.

I love this dress! I needed green for a bridesmaid outfit, but I’m considering ordering another in my standard black too. In my opinion it was a little large. According to the chart, my measurements put me at XL. I’m 5.7 + 165 and full busted. The xl fit, but felt a little Frumpy. I quickly ordered the L and tried in on at arrival, 2 days later. The L was perfect 🤩. Due to the a-line nature and where the fit and flair hits my proportions smaller was better, the flair for the skirt is well above my hips. I could see someone shorter needing the larger size, having the flair start below their at/below he hip line + pulling. Worth trying, and if it feels a tad large + you have prime, definitely try a size down!

This dress is so incredibly comfortable! For reference, I am about 5'6" and I got a size small. The length of the dress is perfect, as it falls right at knee length. By following the size chart, the size small was supposed to fit me the best, but I did find that the waist was still a little bit big and the torso piece was a bit too long. However, I expected this to happen, as I have a smaller waist and shorter than average torso. If an extra small size was available, I would probably choose that. The dress material is pretty soft, as it feels like a blend of cotton and spandex, which provides a little bit of stretch if you do happen to need it. Overall, this dress is great and I would probably get this in a different pattern as well!
