The directions say to discard the left over solution. Does anyone know why? I use it as a spray for a chronic itch and don't use the whole 2 cups
Does It Work On Eczema?
Can this be put into your ears? I suffer from recurring fungal infection in both ears.
Is there any difference in soaking one time for 40 minutes or two times for 20 minutes

Works great for poison ivy relief

These work really well to dry out patches of poison ivy. It is a little messy because you need to dissolve the Domerboro in water, soak a paper towel, and place the paper towel on patches of poison ivy. I like to cover each little section with a small damp piece of paper towel. About 7 minutes later, damp each peice of paper towel, do this again 7 minutes later, finally 7 minutes later, remove the dried paper towels (a 20ish minute process). Covering just the spots of poison ivy will help limit the amount of your skin you are drying out. I do this a few times a day and typically the poison ivy spots dry up in 3 to 4 days.

Amazing for eczema!

When I got pregnant the first time, I also got eczema for the first time, probably because my immune system was suppressed. I only got eczema in my ear canal, so it was very itchy and irritating. It took 13 months of itching and going to several different doctors (all of whom told me it was swimmer's ear, when I hadn't been swimming in years), before someone finally saw it when I was at the doctor for an unrelated issue and cultured it. Bam! I had MRSA in my eczema ear, she prescribed very expensive ear drops, and I was cured.Shortly thereafter, I got pregnant a second time, and the eczema returned, this time in the other ear. I went to the doctors over and over about this again, they swabbed me and I had a secondary MRSA infection again (even if I resisted the urge to scratch during the day, I would dig at night, which would break the skin for the secondary infection). This time around, the expensive ear drops did nothing. The eczema returned midway through my pregnancy, and my youngest children just turned three to show how long I'd been dealing with this curse. I thought I was going to have to suffer with this pain for the rest of my life.I was searching around on Google, and I happened to find a link to a PubMed study that Burow's solution is effective against all kinds of external and internal ear infections, and even effective at breaking down the biofilm that MRSA creates. I found this product on Amazon, and decided to give it a shot. If it didn't work I was out $12, which is much less than I've paid in doctor visits over the years who never really did anything.I anticipated this product was going to sting when I first applied it, because my ear was extremely crusty and weeping, but it didn't at all. After the first use, when I was wiping the solution off the external part of my ear, I noticed the crusts had been debrided and come off. This was what usually happened when I debrided my ear with hydrogen peroxide prior, so I wasn't too hopeful yet. When I woke up the next morning and my ear wasn't newly crusted over, I was legitimately shocked and amazed. My ear was at the worst point it had been in for years prior to using the Domeboro, and the eczema had started migrating out of the ear canal and onto my external ear. I can't believe this did something that prescription ear drops could not.I have been using this product once a day for a week now, and the crusts that normally itch and drive me crazy have not come back since the initial application. I'm not waking myself up at night digging in my ears, and I don't have to deal with the constant bleeding and weeping. I honestly consider this product a godsend. I mixed half a packet in 4 ounces of water and I keep it in a sealed container in my kitchen and just shake it up before use. I put 1/4 teaspoon in my ear once every day or two, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before turning it out. I intend on continuing this regimen for two weeks, then hopefully my ear will clear up and my own immune system can take over and the eczema will be gone for good, at least until I get pregnant again haha.

PUPPPS rash... desperately looking for relief

I purchased 3 different rash relief remedies on Amazon and this one was mostly for numbing the insane itch on my feet that occurred from developing a postpartum rash (PUPPPS). It temporarily reduces my need to itch my feet while they are soaking in the water solution. I tried using one packet at first but it was not strong enough. Each solution after I had to use 2 packets per session. It gives off an icy feeling which helps alleviate the itchiness somewhat. I would not buy this again though. It was not as useful as I thought for relieving my PUPPPS rash on my feet...all over (even the bottom of my soles had it). After a month of symptoms, I used a total of 6 individual packets. I find the anti-itch creams more effective cost-wise and for longer temporary relief.
