Where can I find a stand for this?
What else do I need to buy in order to set it up on my acoustic drum kit?
will this work with Kat brand kick/bass triggers and hi hat pedal?
Do I have to plug It into speakers or does it have speakers built in (I've never bought one and I don't to get it and realize I need more equipment)?

Good for beginners not for professional

I purchased this Sample pad for my 10 year old kid and he is very happy with it. I got this deal under Rs.9000.I want to share my experience with it.1. It is easy to play.2. I didn't try the extra sounds which can be uploaded with a external SD card but I think it should work fine. I will try it later.3. If you want to play it in a live program with amplifier it's sound quality is fine but not professional. Sooner you will realize it is not good (irritating sound). If you play attaching with 5.1 channel sound system sound output quality is good.4. So far I feel it is good for learning purpose.

Poor persormance

I took the item today. But This product dint impress me in the first go. It has only 200 in built tones where in Rockstar spd 20 has 1000 plus inbuilt tones. And the keys are also not upto the mark. It is so complicated when you select. In the user manual no proper information given about the tones or the product. Really disappointed.

Not value for money

I bought this product from Appario Retail Private Ltd in September 2019 and within 4 months one of the button has stopped working, I am not sure where do I get this replaced in Bangalore. Still struggling to get support from the manufacturer, even Amazon is also clueless on how to get the after sale service, completely wastage of money.

Great product

Guys, go for it. It's really awesome Samplepad / octapad in budget. Alesis is having only one service centre in India. It's - paras electronics in Mumbai. RockOn!

VERY BAD PRODUCT DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

This is a very bad product. Only after a week of its purchase its keys suddenly stopped working and not able to change the rhythms stored. Wonder what quality of this one? Those who are serious about music don't buy this. I don't know what happend to my money. Total waste?

Simple way to add more surfaces to any kit.

Out of the box, the samples are rather basic. This unit really comes into its own when you add your own acquired samples. The trigger input is a stereo connection (which allows two external pads to be added - a big bonus). The built in reverb effect is a bit rough and old-school sounding. Depending on how you mount it an where, vibrations can stop active pads, I have not yet found anyway to solve this unless the sensitivity of the pads is reduced to the point where it's borderline useless. It's disappointing that Alesis hasn't offered a firmware update for this sample pad, where they have done for the Sample Pad Pro. The main outputs are a little noisy, switching to the phones output yields a slightly better outcome, but there is evident mains hum which cannot be solved through either ferrite beads, or the use of a D.I as it is not external noise, but internal noise. That's a disappointment really. However, if you can overlook that, I don't know of any other way to add 4 extra pads, plus an SD sample-based playback, along with some quick pitch adjustments and two extra triggers..,... for a better price. So it does get a thumbs up from me.

Terrible product. Had to replace the first one due ...

Terrible product. Had to replace the first one due to extreme cross-talk, latency, and under/over-sensitive pads. The replacement had the same issues. It got to the point that our gigs became an embarrassment. Amazon issued a refund, with no hassle. I give them due credit for that. This product, however! Utter shite. I understand that Alesis pitch themselves as the cheaper Roland, but this just takes the piss. Don't bother with all the forums that tell you to adjust sensitivity, and to download the updated firmware. It doesn't solve the issue. Ultimately, the crapness of this product is down to poor structural design and the use of cheap electronic components. Don't waste your time or money.

A good bit of kit. Mlre than worth it's cheaper price tag.

Quite a lot of cross talk and even after much fettling with levels amd sensitivity settings. It's not got as advanced footpedal control as I'd have liked amd external hit hat set up took some researchamd experimenting and still won't quite do what I want. My v old roland td3 sounds as good or better except with Tom's which are deeper bass rich and more real than the roland in my opinion. Looks cool, easy to set up and navigate controls. Would have liked a larger in- built library of sounds and loading time for custom kits is v slow too. That said, it's also way cheaper than roland equivalent so a great bit of kit for quick and portable setup / gigging or small space practice kit. Also a cheap way of creating a hybrid kit for some interesting sounds amd samples. Overall okay to good.

I just can't perform on this!

Guys my overall rating is low because this drums pad is plastic, cheap and the sensitive is probably the worst I've ever tried. You can't compare this with Roland pads for example were you really feel secure and help to you performance... if you purpose is only hit the stuff and launch a backing track? then OK go for it... but the sound quality is very low and when you plug the unbalance output to your PA you will heard an undesired hum, this hum if you perform in a venue will be 100 more noisy... is not a professional pad, I cannot recommend this to anyone, to avoid really and go for a Roland or something else... good luck!

A great piece of kit but.....

This is a great piece of kit with responsive pads and a great selection of built in samples. The 'sample' in the title means you can add your own samples via an SD card (I haven't done this yet). The tricky bit comes when using the midi out. I have Ableton Live 10 DAW and programming the four pads to play the samples is a bit tricky. The sample pad has eight programmable groups. Pick a group for Midi and then you have to go through the 999(?) channels for each pad until it starts playing one of the samples on your DAW. I haven't found this in any instructions.
