We really like these toothbrushes
We really like these toothbrushes. I had been buying the charcoal bristled brushes made by Colgate, but wanted to try out a biodegradable variety. I don't use charcoal bristles for whitening or anything - i like that the bristles are soft enough to brush my gums as well as my teeth, but firm enough to still get all the plaque off.One word of advice - don't leave the handles where they will be wet most of the time. They can start smelling funky, and i'm sure that these can't be sanitized as well as plastic-handled toothbrushes. For the cost and environmental tradeoffs, that drawback is worth it to me.

Great swap for plastic toothbrushes.
I am starting my plastic free, zero waste life style and I am replacing each item as it nears the time to be thrown out. I love these! Very well made and the shape is comfortable to hold. The bristles appear securely placed so I don't think I will have issues with them falling out.

where have you been my whole life
These are a game-changer in my oral health. As of the past 2 years, my teeth have been dingy and turning brown and yellow. My breath is bad a lot too. But these charcoal toothbrushes have really helped all of that. Breath isn't kicking it like judo anymore and my teeth are insanely white after each brush.

Tips for using this lovely toothbrush
I have some tips for anyone who's switching to bamboo toothbrushes!1. Having a bamboo toothbrush requires a little extra work. To prevent mold from growing, just go ahead and wipe it down with a hand towel after use and let it air dry. After a while your brush might turn a darker brown color, no worries! There's nothing wrong with it.2. The bristles are NOT biodegradable. There's not really a brand out there (that I can find) right now that has fully biodegradable bristles, so before tossing this into your compost, please take the time to rip out the bristles. (It's very easy to do with pliers). These brushes are great. Their bristles are so thin that they get up in between all your teeth and are gentle enough to brush your gums with, even if you're super sensitive. I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm one step closer to being plastic free!!

Better than plastic
The bristles on this brush are so soft yet firm. I guess because of the carbon? My teeth are in great condition already, but my gums sometimes bleed. I've never had a cavity, and switched to fluoride free toothpaste years ago. If by chance I run out and need to use some old fluoride toothpaste, my teeth actually hurt. What does that tell you about the fluoride lies? Anyway, back to this brush. The bamboo doesn't feel too weird in your mouth. It dries fast. The best part are the bristles. I was worried I wouldn't be able to brush well enough, and also brush my tongue, but they are firm in the bamboo to do the job well. The softness of the tapered bristles have healed my gums which seemed to be receding a little due to bad toothbrushes. Next, I'm making my own simple tooth powder out of calcium carbonate, bentonite clay, and peppermint oil. Already tried the calcium and peppermint. Wooo! A little peppermint goes a long way. Why do they put so much junk in commercial toothpastes??? I guess to ruin people's teeth so the dentists and companies that sell all these products can keep making $$$$$$. Buy these brushes. You get 4 for 6.99. That's about the same or cheaper than a plastic brush. Save your teeth, and save our oceans.

Nope!
Didn't like them and the last one I used and only had out for about a week started to mold. Yuck!! I even let it air dry and it still got mold on it. Was so disappointed I threw them all out.

Honestly these kind of gross me out how they feel but I am trying to be more environmentally friendly. They work fine but are harder to keep looking clean. I kept my plastic brush and reach for that instead.

The earth is happy with this purchase
Feels just like a normal toothbrush! Bristles aren’t too hard but strong enough. We all have to do our part and this is a simple way we can all make a change!
