This is a an excellent product. It holds my iPhone 8 perfectly on the air vent in a VW Touareg. It charges up quickly, even with a bumper case on the phone.Before you use it the first time, you simply set the lower bracket height (which in my case was the 4.7" setting for the iPhone 8). Fix to your vent or dash and plug a micro USB lead in. Make sure you use a high power USB charger socket, you'll need at least 10W of power available or the unit will not work effectively.To operate the first time, once powered on, just press one of the 2 little buttons on the side and the arms automatically open using a little motor. This is very cool! Then rest your phone in the holder and it will detect your phone and closes the arms automatically in a rock solid grip. To release the phone, just press the button again.What I really like is that it appears to have a small battery on board that is charged up so that you don't need the car ignition on just to open and close it, which is a problem for some early car chargers with auto-opening. A simple but great feature!Highly recommend this charger. It's worth the money.

Update. I have had this unit nearly a year now and it is still brilliant, can't fault it, never fails me. Like it so much I have purchased 2 more. Brilliant and it shows you get what you pay for.If you want a cradle that charges, holds a phone and looks great this is the one to getI really liked this charger, I have tried anoth cheaper one which failed after 3 months.The build quality and motor mechanism is really good and the suction plate so far is strong.I would have given this 5 stars if it have arrived with the plug in cigarette charger but it didn't. The seller should make this more obvious in the description, I've reread it and it's not highlighted at all so if you buy this and it is worth buying from what I see so far, then make sure you order the actual charger too. For this price I would expect it to be included.I will also say that the fact you can release without power to it is really good, the last one I had couldn't do this.

Good but not great with my Samsung S9. Window suction is ok, dashboard suction not - fell off and chipped phone. Not great it landscape mode... dropped phone a few times already trying to get it out. Although it is q3 fast charging it can't keep up with my Tomtom Go sat nav. Quite expensive for what it is and no charging adapter included. Lastly it can't fit into the box it comes in without dismantling - for people like myself who don't use it all the time.Uses a micro usb cable/connection, a type C would have been better so you could switch to wired charging when using sat nav on long journeys.Update9 months old and now unusable as I now won't stick to the windscreen even though I've kept the suction pad covered with the plastic disc protecting it that it shipped with. Avoid!

I have just driven around Oman in a 4x4 with this mount. The vent clip is rather floppy for a very bumpy road but never let go. No doubt it depends on the vent design. The windscreen mount is very strong but my heavy iPhone XS Max needed to be resting on the dash as well, to prevent excessive shaking. Nevertheless it gave me many mounting choices and did the job extremely well. The convenience of the motorised clamp was great for taking the phone on and off when parking. On an extremely rutted road in the desert the phone did work it's way forward and came off charge one time, however it was in a soft silicon back case.The major flaw is due to the limited current passed by Apple's wireless charging. 7.5W doesn't appear to be sufficient to keep up with the GPS sat nav drain and despite continuous charging the battery warning was in the red before the end of the day. I was using a 30W Anker car charger. If I had reduced the screen brightness that might have helped but Oman is a very sunny country! I suspect that using wired charging would have been fine and tests online appear to show that wired charging takes precendence over wireless charging so allowing both to remain connected would not have been harmful.An on/off switch for the motorised mount would have been nice as I was not keen to pack it in my suitcase whilst still powered. I packed it in the sturdy supplied box without problem.A flexible and innovative mount. Recommended.

It's ok the auto grab is a nice touch but fast charging it's not if I have Google maps on it wont charge it will stay the same my old fast charger will get my phone up to 40% in about 8 mins this one 30 it's not good for that it's over priced I'm disappointed in the lies ppl put on there ads
