"Black" means black, "Gold" means orange ....
Review by Mrs. K. Lockwood, not Dr. J. Lockwood, as he doesn't wear nail art (or polish). I got these in the two different color themes, black and "gold". They are genuinely different sets, and the four sheets in each set are also different. The black set seems to have slightly more black or black accented decals, so that the pumpkins for instance may have black accents, black outlines, or are black pumpkins with orange features on the "face". In the gold set, the pumpkins are orange with white outlines, accents, or faces. You get the idea. Lots of different decals include my favorites, cats and bats, and some of the cats are cartoon-ish, with big heads, while others are the stereotypical arched back scared-y cats. Hard to describe the variety in both packs, other than to say they include what I would consider child-friendly images and some that are more -- well, bloody, grim, or at least less friendly. Nothing actually offensive, by my over-65 standards, BTW. Now the other important part of the review: Usage. I'm pleased to say the decals are what looks like thin vinyl, and I didn't need tweezers to get a black cat image off the paper and apply it to a polished nail,, although one probably should for the smaller or narrower decals. The day before the experiment I'd used a base coat, then applied ILNP's "Citrus Punch", a shimmer color which was just little too orange for September on my admittedly pale skin, so I'd added a thin coat of ILNP's (shimmer) "Grace" which made it a bit more peachy. I had already added OPI's clear top coat, so when I added the decal the next day to my left ring fingernail, I smoothed the decal with my finger, then applied Sally's Hansen's "Big Qwik-Dry" over the entire decal and a bit more of the nail to be sure it wouldn't peel up accidently. It worked like a charm, you might say, and stayed on for 10 days with no problem. I can't say that much for the manicure on the other nails, in fact. When it was time to remove my polish, I used an Eco-Beauty "LA Fresh" acetone-free pad as usual. The color of the decal came off first, but with a little rubbing, the decal came loose -- or partly dissolved, I guess. Anyway, everything cleaned up nicely with no pesky residue. The package warns against using the decal on skin, and has the usual warnings about discontinuing use if there's a problem with the nail. Personally, I wouldn't apply the decal without using both a base coat and a nail polish coat first. When I redid my nails I tried a black bat on top of ILNP's "I See You", which is sort of a pale silvery beige shimmer. I'd skipped the OPI top coat and the next day added the bat and the "Big Qwik-Dry". I don't anticipate any problems with the slight change. BTW, when it gets closer to Halloween, I'll probably use ILNP's "Atomic Sherbet". It's a very intense pinkish red-orange shimmer, and I may have to tone it down with a thin coat of "Grace" or stick to the mostly black decals. I just use one or two decals at a time and only on one finger on each hand at the most for Halloween. I keep my nails at sport-length, given my age, although I'll never "outgrow" Halloween. If you have longer nails, you can have fun combining various pieces, or have a Halloween nail art party with your friends a few days before the big night.

Beware the one smoking
I was really looking forward to these they looked so cute and I have some exactly like the ones in the pink package but larger. I thought that would be wonderful for my three year old daughter and I to have matching nails but I was really disturbed to see one sheet depicted all of them smoking. Not sure what they were thinking there but that's not for children. Throwing that one away the rest were quite nice. I was really offended and considered giving only two stars, however my daughter loves the rest. I'll be kind.

decent quality but ....
Really disappointed that the designs on the nails are not all included with the stickers. I wanted my nails done exactly as shown in the sample photo so I purchased thise pack. Not even half of the stickers are the same as what are shown on the nails =(
