I have many size anvils from 460lb blacksmithing anvil to many flat anvil plates.. I have to say it’s just handy. I use it in my knife work from putting pins in bolsters to placing snaps in leather work. Perfect desktop anvil. The only negative I can say about is that it’s made from cast iron. So it’s a little softer than what I am use to. Still a great buy though.

I needed someting for my workbench larger than the anvil on the back of my vice. This anvil is near perfect for small jobs and leather work. Great for setting rivits. The packaging states the country of origin is the USA. The base is also machined smooth so its very versatile.

Yes, there are several much cheaper mini anvils available on the market, and most would do the job, but this is the only one designed specifically for leathercraft. I like how their are built in dimples and cut outs for the various rivets, snaps, etc, and how the horn is flush with the working face. Given its weight, the vice has large working surfaces. In fact, all 4 sides can be used as working surfaces and have been designed and machined to do so.
