Zoku Unisex's Insulated Double-Walled With Suspended Glass Core Bottle

The product is well made and balanced (will not fall over when empty), a clever design with the quarter turn cap, thick rope and a reasonable weight when empty, although outside the bottle appears smooth it does not slip from the hand. The temperature of the liquid inside is maintained and the taste of liquid from the glass core is pleasant (you can taste the difference). I accidently elbowed the full bottle off a 2 foot drop unto a lino floor on the first day of use, it was not even scratched.

This is our second, the other get's used so much needed another to stop fights over the blue one. Nice glass inner which does not get stained or get smelly, easy to clean with everything removable. For the money it's great quality...

Ordered a red bottle, but their checkout image shows a grey bottle with a red strap - which is what I have received. Disappointed with the misleading listing but otherwise the quality of the bottle appears sturdy, though I've yet to used it.

This bottle is an ambitious, albeit a little bit overengineered product. It consists of quite a few pieces and that complicates the cleaning process. Putting in hot liquids causes massive condensation in between the walls that won't easily go away and so requires disassembly. Putting the bottle back together is not easy either, as you are handling a very fragile glass insert, the silicone seals are fiddly to put back in place, it's very difficult to avoid fingerprints and dust, both of which are later well visible. The top silicone seal does not want to stay in place and keeps shifting towards the drinking opening. The cord looks nice, but easily soaks in water and dries slowly. The bottle appears fragile and does not hold the temperatures for long.Why 4 stars then? Because it's nice, ambitious, and it's a pleasure to drink from glass on the road. Plastics and silicone bottles are a no go for me, not a fan of stainless steel either, especially for coffee. Normally I like ceramic cups, but the spray-on ceramics that is used to line up metal core travel mugs also affects the taste in my experience, they are just not the same material as porcelain cups. No such problems with glass, it's perfectly neutral. If you can put up with numerous problems and limitations that the zoku bottle comes with you will be treated to the best tasting water, coffee, juice or any other drink you fancy. It's reasonably priced too. And why not just use a plain, single layer glass bottle then? Well, the zoku still offers more thermal isolation and shatter protection, even if not as much as most stainless steel counterparts. Hopefully an improved version will be released some day.

The bottle is black, instead of the purple that I ordered. The only purple part is the strap at the top. I am quite disappointed.
