Is this what I should use for security when connecting to a shared network in a serviced office building? OR would there be a better firewall to use

I have a feeling that you have come to the wrong place but I will try to answer your question. Reading in-between the line (of words), you are looking for a solution that will offer security measure towards the network of your office. There are a few factors that you have to put down as your baseline, i.e. factors that have to be satisfied first. How big is your office, i.e. how many users? How a total shutdown of your network will affect your business? By that, I mean how long a shutdown can your company afford when worst comes to worst. Last but not least, what is your budget? I am retired now but used to work in I.T. over 30 years. This device is designed for both household and business use - large household and small to medium-sized company. It has features that most households rarely used but are very useful for office use, namely, it supports VLAN and can set up two WIFI network with just one incoming source. I don't work for them so I cannot give you a 100% guarantee about how good its firewall is. From personal experience, it doesn't stop someone "bombing" the connection, i.e. losing connection for five minutes which may require a total reboot of the device. And, yes, there is better firewall out there but again, budget and day to day maintenance are key. This device has only one one-gigabyte network port. So, if your office has more than 10 users that require constant access to the internet, say for the worst case, all 10 require streaming at the same time, the whole network will suffer. For email, internet browsing, this device can handle without any problem. I suggest that before you make a decision, discuss with someone in your company that has strong I.T. knowledge, and compare a number of products of different makes, weigh up their pros and cons against your baseline.
