HIFI WALKER H9 HiFi DAP High Resolution Digital Audio Player

The HIFI Walker H9 specs indicate exceptional music reproduction. That is the case. Not advertised is an included 16gb micro-SD card. Nice. The structure and build quality is solid and pleasing to the eye. I had hoped it would read cue files. It does not. I could have lived with that. The unit I received is new. The unit freezes. In settings, using music scan, it freezes. If using the enter button out of sequence the unit freezes. This is abnormal for any player. Rebooting, resetting and returning to factory settings does not resolve the issue. There is no firmware update available or even the current firmware to download to replace defective software. The issue could be a manufacturing anomaly. Let's hope so, but I'm returning the product.

At $18.89, the H9 is a great buy in my opinion. The firmware on this device sucks and will most likely never be updated. The device will only recognize up to 4000 songs, album art is hit & miss, the lock-out function down't work, and forget using genres instead of playlists. BUT! For under 20 bucks you get a player with robust audio (I don't use the EQ, no need for it), awesome battery life (20+ hours), and a dedicated line-out port.I have not experienced any freezing issues. Updating the media library does take awhile but it always successfully completes. The device also comes with a 16 GB card...I use 64 GB cards to put my music library on.I think for the price that this is a great player. Even with all its faults, you get a lot of player for the money.

Claims to hold and play 14,999 songs.I loaded in 14,996 songs all ripped from my CD collection with the same parameters in folders nested by aritst and album. There is no explanation of how to create a proper playlist for the entire list in the documentation at all. Furthermore, if I scroll any further down the list if I want to play a particular artist if I go anywhere past the first 60 or 70 albums I get a "file format not supported" error.This piece of garbage would be great if it did what it claims. Until I see better firmware this review stands at one star.

I bought this player because of the price (but taking into account the parameters) with some fears, because the producer on his site says that the chip used in this device is Burr Brown, which I do not like because of the style of playing. I was surprised when DAP reached me, because the AKM AK4376A chip was replaced on the packaging. With great curiosity I took for unpacking and I wanted to listen to how he plays. It is made of metal, the buttons are well fitted. Made according to me very good, and with the price of amazon sensational. Well, I just wanted to listen and ... I put a 64GB card with 55 GB of music in HiRes files and ... the player stopped working. I had to take care of something else and left it in this condition in a box. I must admit that I am spoiled by the Shanling DAP, where after 5-10 seconds after inserting a new music card you can listen. When I came back the player was already reacting so I poddrłem headphones and released the first song (I mention that I did not expect the revelation set the volume at 50/100.) I was surprised by the power of the headphone output. On most headphones I listen in the range of 25-30 / 100 because after exceeding 35/100 it is very loud. By pinching more demanding headphones (in my case, Musical Fidelity MF100 and MF200B both after 64 Ohms of resistance), 40-45 / 100 loudness is sufficient. The sound is clear, the silence does not hiss, the sound quality is characteristic of AKM chips, that is, rather neutral, though more in the direction of musicality than analysis. A very successful purchase. Attention! The only thing you need to remember is that you must have some time to digest the content after changing / inserting a new memory card (it took about 2.5-3 hours for the 64 GB card).

All I can say is this is a re-branded Aigo MP3 105, which sells $80+ at AlliExpress and $100+ at Amazon. This player plays HiFi quality sounds that comparable to my high end MP3 players. The firmware is not perfect as compared to my Sony Digital MP3 players and Tascams, but it is what it is, what can you expect from a Chinese gadget, they all have sub-par UI/OSs but the functionality is there. To avoid freezing, load the songs first via opening the folder icon on the screen so it indexes the songs first. If not, the player will tell you all the songs are not file supported. As to the gentleman who loaded 4,900 songs to this player, good luck with that. Even my Sony MP3 player will crash on that number.Am buying my 2nd one now at Amazon, i thought it's already gone yesterday since it says Currently Unavailable. Go get this now, for $18.99, this is a mistake pricing IMHO, grab it while you still can. Oh, and there's a free 16GB micro SD card on it, so $18.99 is like buying a high end micro SD card with that same capacity alone. :)

When you open this bad device , it is still searching all day with out any result,, it is really bad

Nachdem ich mein Smartphone mit Hilfe des DAC Audioquest Dragonfly Red und dem highendigen InEar Ohrhörer ProPhile 8 meinte auf hochwertigen Klang getrimmt zu haben, habe ich zum Geburtstag eines Freundes den Hifiwalker H2 erworben und getestet.Mit dem InEar Ohrhörer ProPhile 8 am Kopfhörerausgang meine ich der H2 hat ein Top Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Mehr jedoch nicht. Und einem Vergleich mit hochwertigen Audioplayern wie z. B. von Astell & Kern hält er nicht stand. Das ändert sich, wenn man den InEar Ohrhörer ProPhile 8 zusammen mit dem DAC Audioquest Dragonfly Red an die Micro USB Buchse anschließt.Unglaublich, was da passiert. Viel besser als die eingangs genannte Smartphone- Kombination. Warum? Der ganze „Schmutz“ aus den vielen Smartphonefunktionen fehlt. Ein Audioplayer ist einzig und allein auf Musik getrimmt.Nunmehr habe ich überlegt, was mache ich, da ich den H2 ja weiterverschenkt habe. Ich habe gemeint, der viel günstigere scheinbar identische Hifiwalker H9, ohne Ohrhörer und neuer, wäre das ideale Gerät für mich. Leider weit gefehlt: die eigenen Playlisten lassen sich nicht abspielen, nur die internen funktionieren. Und den highendigen Klang gibt es nicht. Der H9 erkennt über seine Micro USB Buchse den DAC Audioquest Dragonfly Red nicht.Daher habe ich den Hifiwalker H2 heute ein 2. Mal bestellt.

Ich habe mir in sehr kurzer Zeit drei MP3-Player gekauft. Alle drei liegen (aktuell) in einer ähnlichen Preiskategorie. Mit dem HiFi Walker hatte ich geliebäugelt, und ihn dann bestellt, als er zum Preis von rund EUR 56 angeboten wurde.Mir gefällt das Bedienungskonzept vom H9, da das Gerät über dezitierte Tasten und das Scroll-Rad verfügt - die Bedienung kann intuitiv erfolgen. Angenehm ist auch die Auflösung des Displays; die Schrift ist ausreichend groß und scharf.Die deutsche Übersetzung der Menüs darf nachgebessert werden. So wurde der Menüpunkt Einstellungen mit "Rahmen" übersetzt und unter Einstellungen spielen sind die Wiedergabeoptionen zu finden. In den Equalizer-Einstellungen finden sich Brauch, wohl die Übersetzung von Custom setting. Ich sehe das mit heiterer Gelassenheit.Vom Sound kommt er H9 nicht an den COWON iaudio 9 heran; das ist auch der Player, den ich mit dem H9 ersetzt habe.Der Cowon ist auch mehr als doppelt so teuer und hat keinen Speicherkarten-Slot. Sehr Erfreulich ist auch, dass beim H9 eine Speicherkarte dabei ist, obwohl nicht in der Produktbeschreibung angeführt.Der H9 derzeit mein Lieblingsplayer. Ursprünglich wurde der H9 um rund EUR 100 angeboten; für diesen Preis hätte ich mehr erwartet, aber für den aktuellen Preis ist das Gerät absolut in Ordnung.Vielleicht experimentiere ich noch mit einem Kopfhörerverstärker, um den besten Sound herauszukitzeln.

Das mittlerweile 5. Produkt aus der "Hifi Walker-Modell-Palette". - Vom Klangerlebnis, der Qualität im Vergleich zum "Hifi Walker H2" gibt es keinen Unterschied.Unterschiede des "Hifi-Walker H9" im Vergleich zum "H2" sind dann Verbesserungen ! So z.B. hat sich die Akku-Leistung erhöht, sogar auf 2/3 längere Spielzeit von nunmehr fast 20 Stunden !!Außerdem empfinde ich das beim "H9" unten rechts verbaute SCROLL-RAD deutlich besser als die "Scroll-Scheibe" beim "H2". - Beim "H9" hat der Hersteller seinen Schwerpunkt auf das Wichtigste, der Klang-Qualität, gesetzt. Mit dem Burr Brown PCM5102 DAC ist das dann auch gelungen. - Bluetooth ist nicht an "board", was mich nicht stört, denn der Sound über Bluetooth-Kopfhörer ist nicht im geringsten mit dem Einsatz von kabelgebundenen Kopfhörern vergleichbar.Wer also einen sauberen Klang, einen knackigen Bass und ausgewogene Mitten und kristallklare Höhen favorisiert, der ist hier richtig ! - Ob Klassik, Pop, Techno, House, Blues, Jazz, etc. abgespielt wird, der wird zu 100% begeistert sein. - Lautstärke ????.......mehr als genug, mehr als das menschliche Ohr vertragen kann, also reichlich Reserven, für den, der gern extrem LAUT hören möchte, garantiert. Dabei bleibt das gewünschte Klangbild sogar in vollem Umfang erhalten.Im Vergleich zum "H2", der ja auch um 30,-- Euro teurer ist, ist beim "H9" kein Kopfhörer im Lieferumfang, jedoch aber eine SD-Card dabei !Die Player, allesamt, aus der "Hifi Walker-Modell-Palette" sind nicht nur gut verarbeitet, sondern sehr gut, stabil und qualitativ ausgereift. - Der "H9" als auch der "H2" sind vom "Klang & Verarbeitung" unbedingt mit Playern in der Preisklasse, sogar weit über 500,-- Euro vergleichbar.Hochohmige Kopfhörer stellen für den "H9" überhaupt kein Problem dar ! - Ebenso verhält es sich mit dem Anschluß an einer Anlage, hiermit auch die Kompaktanlage in vollem Umfang ersetzt werden kann. Fast unglaublich welch ein durch und durch überzeugendes Ergebnis erzielt wird,...und auch von anderen Rezensoren, der fast baugleiche "H2" als KLANGWUNDER bewertet wurde.Meine Empfehlung für den hierzu passenden InEar-Kopfhörer, wäre dann auch der "Hifi Walker A1" oder aber einen MINDESTENS 20HZ bis 40KHZ Inear-Kopfhörer. Achten Sie dabei vielleicht dann auch darauf, dass es sich um einen HiRes-Kopfhörer handelt,...entweder den "A1" oder aber den recht günstigen (20,-- Euro) "iHaper Graphene" Ohrhörer, wobei der "Hifi Walker A1" um Weiten besser verarbeitet ist und einen deutlich besseren Sound herausgibt.

Lo bueno.Tiene un sonido brutal y una bateria que dura lo que promete. Se ve un aparato de calidadLo malono muestra las caratulas de todos los archivos a pesar de que lleven estas incrustadas en el propio archivo.Puesto en contacto con el servicio tecnico el cual fue rapido en contestar pero no para solucionar el problema,me contestaron que las caratulas deben estar incrustadas en los archivos, en este caso archivos FLAC, algo que ya sabia,pero no me respondieron porque no las muestra en algunos archivos aunque esten incrustados.

Aunque suene bien (cosa que se espera), tiene fallos que hacen que no me de confianza.- En la primera foto que se muestra del producto, aparece en la pantalla lo que podrían ser los logotipos de bluetooth (cortado por arriba), y grabadora de audio (abajo). No tiene ninguna de estas funciones. Y si bien es verdad que en las especificaciones no habla de ellas, es tan poca la información que hay de este reproductor en general, que no sabes que te vas a encontrar.- No muestra todas las canciones por etiquetas, solo los mp3. Para poder ir a un disco en FLAC tienes que hacerlo a través del explorador de archivos, por lo que esta función se pierde. Caratulas no me ha mostrado ninguna, a pesar de ir incrustadas en el archivo.- El botón de bloqueo funciona a medias. Apaga la pantalla y algunos botones, pero por ejemplo los de pasar de canción alante y atrás siguen funcionando, por lo que no cumple bien su función.- En general, he visto el menú un poco lento. Tarda en encontrar las canciones, la rueda hay veces que se traba y va para atrás.Se que hay reproductores mucho más caros, pero el precio que tiene no es para encontrarse errores
