The size of the pan is more suitable for small animals.

This is a great product. Exactly the cat toilet I was looking for. I have a 13 years old 10 lb cat who has always been extremely picky about her toilet, it's location, litter in it and on, and on. In my turn I didn't like to vacuum floor few times in a day to collect all the litter that she through out from the box, while digging and covering her traces. I bought 2 of these litter boxes, as it is important for cat to have one for pee and one for poo. I didn't fill them us with the litter, but left as is. My cat LOVES her litter boxes, she had never had any accidents with them since I replaced her old ones with these ones. You save huge on litter (and vacuuming). The white insert is not as deep as the outer box, so when cat pees in the box, her feet stay dry and all pee goes down to the bigger box. My only job is to clean it every day, which is very easy: I flush content in the toilet, add water in the box, flush again and it is as clean as it can be. No smell, no litter to buy and clean up, cat and her mama are happy. I am actually back to order two more boxes, so my elderly cat has toilet upstairs and downstairs.Great product!

Very small and needs additional tray
This product should only be purchased for temporay use of small kittens. This is a very small litter box so the litter gets scooped outside easily. I had to purchase a litter mat to go underneath it. It consists of 1 sifter and 1 tray which is a problem I discovered after its first use. As is, you lift the sifter out of the tray, dispose of the waste, and clean the sifter on both sides since it has stuck on litter with waste. The problem is putting the sifter and the tray back together. The tray has the remaining litter but you need to return the sifter between the litter and the tray for use again. Without using a box or another tray to hold the clean litter in while cleaning the sifter, you would have to push the sifter back into the tray containing the remaining litter and struggle to get it all the way down between the two. This process takes more time than using a standard scooper. You need 1 sifter and 2 trays for the efficiency of a sifting litter box. I reccomend purchasing a sifting box that already has the second tray and only costs a few bucks more. Typically they are bigger in size and your cats use the tray sitting on top. You run the contents of this tray through the sifter placed on top of the other tray which will catch the litter once the sifter is removed and it'll be ready for the next use.

Good idea Almost
Missing an important step. Once you sift the litter, how do you put the sifter back down in the litter? You need have something else to pour the litter into so that you can then place the sifter back in and fill with litter. It does work. Just a bad design flaw. I won't return because I just can't bring myself to do that since we used it before realizing the now obvious outcome.

A big mess yuck
I purchased ths product because I foster neonatal kittens most are only a couple days old. The litter box is low enough for two or three week olds to crawl into it. But they are a mess to keep these trays clean. First of all there isnt three tray only two so you cant work thelittter to be placed on top of the other one doesn't work without the third tray. Also the sifter holes is too narrow for the litter to fall throught and it make a huge stick on mess. I purchased a second one to see if a third try would work well. No again you would have to clean the sifter over and over again.

Much smaller than it appears
My new adopted kitty is only 6 lb, so I thought this would be perfect, but she still throws litter all over the place. I thought that tray on the top would just lift off the poop & pee, but then I still have to empty the box of the cleaner litter & out the to grill on top of the litter. Inefficient at best. Therefore, I'm ordering a larger walled box so the litter doesn't go all over the place. I'll send this one to whoever wants it.

Needs another pan
Once you sift the litter, you can't replace the sifter under the litter without pouring all the litter into something else, and then pouring it back after you sift. So I ended up just scooping litter and didn't use the sifter. If you had a second pan, the sifter would be more useful. Also, it's not very deep, and litter goes all over around it when my kitten uses it. I put the box it came in inside a garbage bag and put the litter in that. Works better than this did.

small litter pan
I was hoping this would work but it is just too small for my 6.5 lb cat. She was successful once but then wasn't able to keep the urine inside the pan. The slots were also just a bit large for use with Feline Pine...just big enough for unused pellets to get stuck in the openings. This might be useful for kittens. I have a small space and was hoping this smaller pan would work. I did not have a problem with the quality of the product.
