I needed to have a direct cable to my Direct TV. Since TV was several hundred feet from my router, this was ideal to stretch my WIFI AND give the Direct TV receiver am RJ48 connector.

I rarely write reviews, but I'm rather disappointed at this device as it doesn't perform as advertised.Installation was easy and it worked - but that's the only good things about it.This device is advertised as 433MBit/s on the 5GHz band but the maximum throughput I could ever see on it was barely 100Mbit.In fact, as a range extender it made the original Wifi network in some spots slower than before. I placed it in a spot where it should have good signal from the original Wifi (I measured ~170mbit with the original Wifi there), and put the device into Repeater Mode. It throttled the throughput down to ~70mbit :-/I later tried to use it in Access Point mode and connected it to a 1GB Lan (via its WAN connector). The maximum Wifi speed I could get out of it was ~80Mbit. This is not surprising as its WAN connector does not connect as 1GBit/s device, but as 100Mbit/s, so it'll never exceed 100Mbit even if your local network is 1GBit. How is it supposed to ever reach the advertised 433 Mbit/s on the 5Ghz band?One other thing: The packaging claims, the device would use 2.5W. That can hardly be true, as the device gets rather hot - I suspect its more likely in the 20W range...

It works really good . Only instructions are a little hazy , you just got to do a few extra steps that are not mentioned on intructions . But in the end it is a good product .
