Out of the box I was worried

Right out the box I was worried about the quality of it.On and off switches were all loose, but it's been about 4 weeks now and every so far seems to be working.

Not The Best Quality

I am using this surge protector in my home theater for some devices that are not connected to my Panamax.A few of the things I like:1.) The small form factor. I was able to put this inside of my media cabinet and it doesn't take up much room.2.) The number of outlets on the back, ten in total.3.) The outlets are numbered and each are individually controlled by the lighted switches. The light is not too bright to be a distraction while watching a movie in a completely dark environment (no windows) but just bright enough so I can see which switches are in use.4.) I like the green status light on the front to let me know everything is a go.5.) There is also a reset button on the front.6.) Detachable power cord. The cord feels like good quality, no concerns there. What I don't like:1.) Feels cheap. Specifically, this protector feels too light and makes me wonder what's inside. In addition, upon removing this from the box, the switches were crooked, I had to straighten a few of them by grabbing the frames that house the switches and adjusting them so that they would be straight. The outlets on the back needed to be straightened as well and they don't feel like they're securely attached. None of the things I plugged into it felt like they wouldn't stay in, with the one exception of devices that have a transformer attached, instead of a two or three prong plug. Just know that if some of your devices do have a transformer, it will block an outlet so that there will be one less available to use.For my use case at this time, this will serve its purpose until I can find something with better quality.I hope this helps.

Basic (lower cost) Power Distribution Unit

I got this mostly so I could label devices in a rack instead of the spaghetti plugged into a power strip somewhere on the floor, so as a solution to the bare minimum, it works well. I could see it being very useful in a portable music rack for the same reason. Is it industrial quality? Probably not - but it's better than a regular surge protector/power strip. As others have mentioned, the plugs are a little loose depending on what you put in them, but I haven't had the same issues others are reporting. For now, I'm happy with it!

Professional upgrade power strip

I am always short of outlets at my desk so this unit was a perfect solution. The rear-facing plugs help keep all the cords and cables tidy and out of the way, and having a power switch on the front for each circuit is a great help for the times that I need to power-cycle something - now I don't have to fumble for the power buttons on individual components. The unit is built like a tank and I would have been very happy to have this in the top slot of my road rack when I was a touring guitarist.

Starting from the bottom

I have bottom of rack UPS's, and all my power wiring goes out through surge protectors, which are connected back to the UPS's. Most cables are labelled but it's still hard to find the right one when I need to.The ThePoEstore 1U PDU Network Rackmount really cleans things up. I can just run my power cables down the sides of the rack and plug them into the pdu, keeping them inside and out of trouble. The PDU includes surge protection, and has a resettable circuit breaker for overload protection. One of the outstanding features is that each outlet has a corresponding switch on the front panel, so I can switch off the correct server without tracking all the power cords. It's metal construction, and great for our small server room.
