B&M70297 Hi-Tek Transmission Cooling System

Nice piece of kit. Well made and will probably carry out its intended duty very well in a relatively compact space. Temperature switch can be used or replaced with a modulating type controller from Spal [about $70 including all wiring] or a wiring harness if using the built in switch [about $30]. Either way, you will need a separate wiring harness, fuse and relay.Amazon should note that the packing was not up to scratch and the tmeperature switch was slightly damaged. The unit was simply plonked in a box and sent off without any transit packing to help absorb the inevitable shocks. Otherwise good service. I immediately wrote to Amazon about this but no response to date. Not sure if the unit was packed this way in the factory of later on ex-works.Good deal overall.Fred R

Like others, fan works fine with direct power, but temperature switch never engages despite trans fluid temp temp rising to 200°F. Replacement sensor unavailable according to Holly/B & M customer service. Tech called back twice and helpfully recommended aeroflow part number AF59–6000. Replacement sensor is on order out of pocket as it is cheaper + less time-consuming than removing current setup and RMA process.

This transmission cooler dropped average tranny temps in my Class A by 30 degrees while under motion. I also have an 8 mile steep uphill grade to navigate while getting back to the house, and on a warm day, towing a trailer, the tranny would sometimes reach 220 degrees due to very slow speeds and low airflow. Last weekend we pulled the grade on a clear hot day and I never saw temps over 177. Nice product.

I have tried two of these units both with the same results, the thermostatic switch is not set for the right temperature. I have a brand new LED read out transmission temperature gauge, in line. These fans never go on I have driven the temps to 212 degrees, With never seeing the fan come on. To me this is unacceptable, to let the transmission temps run to high before cooling. When I called B&M customer support they said there was nothing they could or would do about it, promising to return a phone call from the tech dept. , which never happened. Overall, my impression of B&M, customer support was go away your bothering us. I have been in the trades well over 25 yrs. Bottom line, you will buy this unit hopefully not at full price since there are others out there from different manufactures, that probably work correctly. And plan to buy a dash on/ off switch , other wise don't waste you time and just buy the biggest stack fin exchanger and you will see the same results with out having to wire a thermostatic switch that is obviously calibrated incorrectly.

outstanding! My 07=2500hd 6.o tansmittion was running 190 degress plus towing my camper. Put this cooler on and it ran at 162 degrees with the a/c on all the time with driving in 90 degree heat. I am really thinking about putting another one on the engine for more cooling. Great product!

When I installed this I had trans fluid leaking from the fitting I thought... upon further inspection it has a pinhole leak.

I love my new transmission cooler. I use it in one of my race cars.

Fan has never worked but the cooler is really great.

This B&M forced air cooler works brilliantly in this transmission application I put in for (hydraulically controlled A442F).Maintains a constant 180F even under severe duty applications with heavy loads in a Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ81 diesel running 30P SI of turbo boost, 6" of lift, and 35" tires.Very pleased with the product and the service.
