Never loved a fountain pen as much as this one!
Relatively new to fountain pens, having used Pilot (Kakuno and Metropolitan) and Lamy (AL Star and Safari) in the past but didn't really get "it" until this pen.I was debating on the Kaweco Brass Sport before discovering this one at half the price. Figured if this one was a bust I'd try the Kaweco. But as soon as I picked it up an began to write, it was a real treasure.First, I meant to order the Medium Nib but accidentally got the Fine Nib instead. I was blown away by how smooth it writes. Not scratchy and dry. No pulling or unnecessary pushing the nib, it just moves. No leaking. I used Diamine ink in the color Sage and Pelikan 4000 ink in Violette on Midori MD paper while testing this pen out, both I'd say are "wetter" inks (while the Midori paper is very FP friendly) especially the Diamine. And for a "smaller" pen, I'd say it doesn't eat up inks. I kept checking it like 'am I going to run out?' only to see it was plenty full.If you love a cold and weighted pen, give this one a try. I've used a friends Kaweco in the past and noticed that it wasn't THAT heavy but the M2 has a bit of weight to it which I love! It's small and fits right in a pocket or pouch. It comes with a universal ink converter (similar to the Lamy vacuum converter). The pen doesn't come with ink cartridges and doesn't arrive filled with ink. So if you have your own, the M2 is ready to go.As for the nib size, the Fine nib looks and feels more like Medium. I'd put it somewhere in-between a Pilot F nib and a Lamy M nib (which is rather thick tbh). Later I did order another pen, this time with a Medium nib and the difference between the Fine and Medium nib is rather minimum. No harm done! Just know that there isn't stark difference between the two nibs for this pen.I love the brass coloring and even bought a black one soon after. This has become my everyday writing pen since it's so easy and fun to use. Not to mention the price.Highly recommend for anyone to give it a try!

Great pen, even for BIG HANDS!!
Kinda new to the fountain pen world, but this makes my 10th fountain pen I’ve purchased from various manufacturers. Nothing over the 40 dollar mark yet, but this is by far the best. Solid brass, the fine nib works perfectly right out of the box, and it fits my extra large hands just fine. I’m 6’5”, and 8.5” from wrist to tip of middle finger. With the pen “posted” as it’s called, it rests just fine where it should. Is it a skinny pen near the nib? Yes, but I can still write just fine with a wooden pencil and this pen is bigger than a wooden pencil. Would I want to write multiple pages with it? Probably not since I have some fairly large “fat finger” pens that are more comfortable. But for my little field notebook I started carrying with me everywhere, this pen is perfect. Small but heavy duty, solid brass, screw on cap in case there’s a leak, and short enough that when I sit down with it in my front pocket I don’t even know it’s there. Highly recommend, and you might want to hurry, because I just ordered 2 more that arrive tomorrow morning! Oh, and since you can buy at least 4 of these for the price of the “name brand” one that looks similar, I think the choice is obvious, at least for my budget. There are some great v ideos on “UTube” that go in depth about this brass version and the painted aluminum ones. Hope this review helps!!

Best Value Fountain Pen
As a fountain pen user of many years. I have a small collection of them, mostly Pelican and Lamy. I've found that my enjoyment of a pen does not depend very much on its specifications or price. It generally depends more on the design. One of my favorite budget pens has been the Lamy Al-Star - an aluminum-bodied pen with a steel nib. But I think the Hongdian M2 may be my new favorite. The M2 is a small pen, so can really only be used comfortably with the cap posted. The body is anodized aluminum. The cap is screwed on (I prefer this, as I find snap-on caps are more likely to let the nib dry out between uses.). The nibs are steel. I've used a fine and medium nib, and found both to work well. The converter is serviceable, but note that it is a proprietary size, so you may want to invest in spares (they're quite inexpensive).I'm really impressed with the M2. I'd recommend it to both new and experienced fountain pen users. For the price, you just can't go wrong
