Flexible Fresnel.
This item came in an envelope marked " Do Not Bend." It was perfect out of the package and is now part of a B.O.B. survival kit. I have tried starting a campfire by rubbing sticks, and Tom Hanks, I am not. This did the trick in just about one minute and is perfect for that use. I KNOW these are for magnifying pages when it's hard to read, but that is NOT why I bought it. It does come in handy for the other, but for what I bought it for, it works great.

Simple product for simple use
I got it for starting fires while camping. I haven't used it in dead of winter but in January on a fairly bright day my test cardboard went up in about 30 seconds. It took several minutes to light a thin twig. I tried it quickly as a magnifier for reading, works fine. Inexpensive fun or inexpensive way to read. Either way - was a great purchase for me.

What a piece of CRAP
Does not do as claimed. I bouht this to read grace notes on sheetmusic. You have to hold it 1 to 2 inches away from sheet. Emailed CS at Co. and they didn't even reply. This is the Worst thing I've ever bought online.

Glare
Any amount of light causes glare and makes it harder to read. I would not recomrnd it.. I'll stick to my cheaters.

Hi- Power but could be better.
I needed something to make the print on a page larger so my aging eyes could see small print. This will do the job, but you have to hold it above the page and kind of focus it in that way to read things. I had thought it would work just laying it down on a page and for me it does not work that way. Still better than nothing but I will be searching for something better.

Entree Enlarger
Flexible "looseleaf" plastic magnifier page with a hole in the top center of the border . . . for hanging? Works well when you back it off about 4 inches or so from the print or object to be magnified. Should be easy enough to carry especially if you slip it in a magazine or book of the same size. Might also come in really handy when you go to one those expensive restaurants where the chef has prepared that special dish that is about the size of a silver dollar. Just whip this handy dandy magnifier sheet out and hold it over your plate while you eat! Then you'll say, "Wow, that fork full was gargantuan and really filled me up!"

Best fire starter ever!
We saw a video about fresnel lens for fire starting. It works like a champ! We did make a frame for it with picture frames from the 99 cent store as it is reasonably thin. If you use thin metal frames, it will slide back into the sleeve it got mailed in.

fresnel lens
Purchased this product (through Amazon)to copy an experiment my son and I saw on U-tube. It worked great for boiling water, even though it was not designed or intended to magnify the sun for this purpose.
