Life saver
I’m going to start off by saying these should be a staple in homes.I recently got a faucet for my kitchen and a few days later received a notice that it MIGHT have been exposed to lead. I panic, obviously, and immediately ordered these and avoided my kitchen sink.I’ve never used these before so it was super easy to follow and use. I was worried I’d screw it up, but it’s easy. Anywho, I swabbed that thing, it didn’t take 30 seconds as suggested and immediately turned purple. Just in case I did another test and same result. I did test other parts of my home to make sure it wasn’t always going to turn purple or change colors, but it was accurate and not to sound dramatic, but saved me and my family. These are most definitely worth the price for the amount and again, should be a staple in homes !

Distinct color when testing positive, huge plus, great to have on hand.
Had some items from Thailand that were in a box for years since 2014-2015 and realized that lead is way more common over there than in the US. Sure enough, a few of the items tested positive (a few metal jewelry pieces and decorative items). The color of the swab when it tested positive was very distinct and unmistakeable. I also went ahead and tested a few of the kids toys and older items in our house just for my own peace of mind. This is one of those things that you probably won't use often, but you never want to have wonder if you're unintentionally exposing yourself to lead when this technology exists to find out!

Good to have at home
We so appreciate the peace of mind this test kit gives us. Although it’s important to be aware that home test kits can be inaccurate, we have found that this kit rarely shows up positive for the things we test. It only ever showed up positive for some protein powders that we tested. We found the results easy to read, and found the price to be affordable.

Easy to use
Used on metal food items from TEMU. Both showed lead content.

Works Well, But Could Be Improved
Bought this lead test kit to check a few old items around the house. The instructions were pretty simple and using the swabs was easy. Just dip in water and rub on the surface, results show up fast, which is great. The pack comes with plenty of swabs so you can test multiple things without worrying about running out too soon. The only downside is that the color change can be a little tricky to interpret. Sometimes it’s clear but other times it’s kinda faint making you second-guess the results. Also, wish the swabs were a bit more sensitive, tested a couple items I was pretty sure had lead, but they didn’t react much. Overall, it’s a decent kit for quick home testing. If you need something super precise you might want a lab test but for basic checking this does the job.

Easy way to test for lead in your home or water
These swabs identified lead based paint on several mugs and cups quickly and easily. it also worked well to test our water. Try this for learning as we did - bought 3 brands of bottled water and tested them as well as our own. The worst? One of the brands, NOT our house water. Heck of a learning experience. We need to be careful, these easy to use swabs work great to test whatever is needed in your home.

There is lead hiding in plain site 😭
I got these because I have been getting a lot of furniture from estate sales to redo and I wanted to make sure they were safe for my home. To my surprise, none of them tested positive for lead. I was very surprised though when I started testing things that I've had in my home for years and that have been passed down to me for my mom and for my grandparents and my great-grandparents. That cup in the picture used to be my great-grandmother's. I remember being at her house as a little girl and drinking water out of it. The jewelry box is a special box that was passed down from my mom. My dad gave it to her many many years ago. It was from Korea. Lastly, we were surprised by our water. The picture with the three cups is from my home. the orange is my fridge water. the pink is the reverse osmosis water and the darker pink is my faucet well water. Needless to say we're having our reverse osmosis checked on Friday. The picture with the two glasses is from my daughter's dorm at College. One is her Brita filter and the other one is faucet water. So as you can see these work. If I could give it a 4 1/2 star I would. The only reason I gave it a four-star is because I feel like the q-tips fall apart a little bit too fast. There also could be a little bit better instructions on what to do and what the dangers are of the lead you find on items.
