Best 2K dash cam in its price category
If you’re in the market for a high quality 2K dash cam, look no further than the Viofo A119 Mini 2. The image quality on this dash cam is fantastic for a 2K dash cam with crisp and clear videos. The highest resolution it supports is 2592 x 1944 at 30 fps with HDR. It’s also equipped with the Sony Starvis 2 sensor which provides excellent night vision. In its price category, it’s difficult to find a better 2K dash cam with similar features and performance. You can buy a 4K dash cam for the same price, but the video quality and performance of 4K dash cams in this price category can’t compete with the A119 Mini 2.1. When recording at the highest resolution (2592 x 1944), the corners of the video have a slight fisheye effect. However, recording at 2560 x 1440 produces noticeably less fisheye effect.2. Unless you’re filming for slow motion video, recording at 60 fps doesn’t improve the quality of the videos.3. It supports 5GHz WiFi which can transfer a 500MB video file in about 1 minute.4. The dash cam has a small profile, weighs about 10 oz., and is hardly noticeable.5. You can use the mobile phone app to connect to the dash cam over WiFi to change the settings or to download video files to your mobile phone.6. There are 2 USB-C ports: one on top of the dash cam and one on the side. You can power the dash cam using either USB-C ports. However, the side USB-C port also supports data transfers using a computer or OTG USB mobile device.7. It comes with a GPS module attached to the back of the unit.8. It doesn’t include an SD card, so make certain you have a high-speed microSD card (SanDisk Extreme or comparable) available. It supports microSD cards up to 512GB.9. It attaches to the car windshield using 3M tape.10. I purchased a rear-view mirror mounting kit (aftermarket accessory) to mount the dash cam so that it can easily be removed or rotated as needed.11. I also purchased the CPL filter for the dash cam, and it greatly reduced the glare during daytime and nighttime driving.

I'd buy another one for a second car without even thinking about it.
This is Viofo's intended replacement for the super popular Viofo A119 V3. This new A119 includes the next version of Sony's video chip, WiFi, and voice commands. It's very small and I mounted mine behind the rearview mirror where I can't even see it (2023 F150). The voice commands are not natural voice (like everything else we're used to) and thus require saying the exact script in order to control the device ("Take Photo", "Lock the Video" are the two I use). I've seen folks complain the commands don't work but you just have to say the right words. I used the HK3 install kit (with the fuse pigtails) and installed it so that I can use Parking Mode. You can download video files and photos to your phone but doing it the car required me to disable Android Auto, which wasn't easy, because it was fighting to control the WiFi connection. Now I just take it out of the car, power it with the USB cable, and then access via WiFi on my phone. No complaints from me. I'd buy another one for a second car without even thinking about it.

It's small and has physical buttons I appreciate.
So it's a decent camera. I've only used few days. So far voice commands don't work. Which I don't care for but they should work. When you install on your windshield be very mindful of the pressure you use. The sticky side surface isn't going to match the glass and so you may have a hollow spot in the middle that won't even actually touch your glass no matter how hard you push. So push a Lil harder than you think you should and push in different directions to get the most adhesion you can. You also may have to learn how to sync video clips.. I had a 2 hr video I wanted to keep and the cam made hundreds of 1 min clips.. I don't know yet if thats something I can change but I had to get program to mesh the files into one mp4 video. The only downside to this camera is that anyone can steal your video card by just pulling it out. They should make it so that the card is under the car console outside the camera so police or thief can't get immediate access to it. But it's a great camera for the price. I would buy another one if your just trying to capture any incidents. You can capture cell phone conversation pretty good if the phone is on speaker...not bad at all. Oh and Ps..I couldn't put the acc wire on a acc fuse spot..I had to put it on a fuse that had power when ignition was in the on position as opposed the required acc position. I hope that isn't an issue but I don't think it is. This is just my preliminary review.
