Same Awesome Quality...New Look! (Pink)
Granted, I've never used it before and nor has my wife for its intended purpose, but LifeHammer is the go-to Emergency Hammer for most people and rightfully so. It's very solid, has a very nice heft, a base to which it attaches to securely-also which includes a bright Glow-In-the-Dark marker, and, well, is Pink so my wife loves it! Like I said before, I've never used it for either of its intended purposes, but have used it to cut all sorts of things. It cuts through rope like a hot knife through butter and excels at taking off zip ties(no more having to use a knife to either have it jump towards your face or making a scratch) and my wife uses it all the time to open our kids toys or whatever are in those insane-to-open hard plastic packages while on the road when the kids just can't wait to get home to play with the toys. My wife had an original orange one, but just wasn't into it, so I got her this one and she actually enjoys having in her car. For fifteen bucks its a best buy and your supporting National Breast Cancer Foundation. With all the other things and gadgets we buy for our car it doesn't make sense not to have something like this that can save your life and be used for other common chores.

A Must-have for every car or truck!
Each of our vehicles has one of these tools. It is scary to think that if you were in an accident, you could not get your windows down if the engine was not on, since everything is now contingent on that. In days past, you could ROLL a window down, but that isn't the case anymore! We have purchased one for each of our kids when they have gotten a car, then instructed them on how to use it in the event of an emergency.t is very important to keep this tool in an easy-to-reach location, but not someplace where it can become a projectile! That could be deadly if it hit someone, and once it has become a projectile, you can not reach it anymore. So think it through where it should be stored in your car. There is also a seat-belt cutter on the end. Last week, a friend came on an accident where a vehicle had flipped over and the driver was suspended with their seat-belt on. He had to cut the belt off of the driver to get her out. Once again, something we just don't think about.

I Tossed The Holder
I tossed the holder for this hammer since there was no place I'd want to "stick" it in my car. I keep it in the glove compartment so I always know where it is. The blade for cutting a seatbelt is recessed so you can't cut yourself on it. Does it cut a seatbelt? I'm not about to try it on mine quite yet! Will the hammer cut the window glass? Well, it has a bit of weight to it and two different pointed edges so I sure hope so. I'm not ready to try that one either.Like so many things we buy these days, I can only hope it does what it says it will. Maybe I should visit the junk yard and try it out on something there. Hmmmmm.... Personally, I'd rather have the old roll down windows. With those I did't have to rely on something to get me out of my car through the window if I needed to. Technology.....not always for the better but it sure makes us a bit lazier!

Breast Cancer Awareness Logo missing!
The whole purpose of paying $14+ for this was to mount it in the race car in front of the passenger. And if I'm going to mount something with high visibility why not have the LifeHammer with the Breast Cancer awareness logo and the passenger won't forget it's there if we roll over or get in a bad accident and a seatbelt cutter is required for racing and yet another advertisement. Well it arrived and there's no logo ...I could have just gotten a regular orange one for less than $10. But this one just has a round GS sticker and no the logo isn't under the sticker from the part I pealed up. I had thought I was paying the little bit more for that but it just looks like a pink hammer. Are they going to replace the hammer with the correct logo for 5 stars?

well designed tool that you will probably never need
It's a paranoia purchase to be sure, but if my worst fear occurs, and I crash my car and it falls in a river, I know I will be able to bust out a window. In the meantime, if someone ever leaves a kid or a dog in a locked car and I see it, I'm prepared to take action. This tool is well designed to do what it is supposed to do. Almost nobody will ever need it but if you do, this is the thing to have.Tip: hit a side window not the windshield, it will only bounce off the windshield

Great idea, but...
...1) doesn't come with any way to attach the bracket to your car; 2) bracket didn' t have enough "flat points" to establish good contact with the mounting surface. I purchased some double back tape (designed to hold 20 lbs.) and fastened the bracket to the side of my car's console. I bumped it a few times and it fell off. And even though there are screw holes for mounting (no screws were included), I'm not willing to damage my car's interior to mount the bracket. Instead, I ended up stowing the hammer in my center console, with the hope that if I need it I can easily/quickly find it.
