If you have a newer Chromecast and your Internet speed is over 100mbs, you need this.I had an older Chromecast and upgraded to a newer one, but kept the older adapter. I kept getting a message on screen stating I was connected by Ethernet. It would appear every few minutes and be on screen for about 10 seconds. Very annoying.My older adapter was rated to 100mbs, but my Internet speed was over 300mbs. So I ordered this to see if it was the problem, and it was! No more messages on screen!Great product and quick delivery as well.

Very simple plug and play works with 1gig internet which is a plus.

Wireless was spotty and streaming weak. Now no longer an issue.

I say perfectly fine with an * mainly because I had to exchange the adapter because the first one sent out was DOA. Other than that, this Ethernet adapter works great! I've got pretty spotty WiFi with the Chromecast that I've added this adapter to. I was limited to 480p or lower quality resolutions. By hardwiring it, I can now get steady streams in 4K60. I really like the metal housing for this adapter, makes it feel sturdy and capable of transferring heat to prevent overheating. Setup with the Chromecast is quite easy: literally plug and play! No need to change any settings in the Chromecast menu. It should work right out of the packaging.

Horrible product, doesn’t work. I rebooted the system several times hoping it would get recognized. It was never seen by firestick. I had to revert to using the adapter from Amazon. So I’m stuck at 100MB instead of this Gigabit adapter.. My hopes have been shattered.Update: got replacement 3 days after, same junk.. item doesn’t work. Just waste of time and money

Purchased for a reliable connection. It is reliably slower than WiFi in almost every way. Thought purchasing this dumb add-on for an ethernet connection would help with lagging or buffering issues at times. Thanks Amazon for the crappy ethernet speed.

Previous usbc + ethernet adapter failed after a factory reset, this adapter worked great as soon as it was plugged in.

We love our Chromecast for streaming but the WIFI signal in our basement is a bit too weak to stream 4K properly. We are lucky enough to have a network connection near our TV so this USB-C ethernet adapter has worked perfect for us.Just plug your power and network cables in to the adapter and then plug the adapter in to your Chromecast. That's it - I did not have to do anything else. You may need to check your network connections but I had no issues at all.All my WIFI issues went away and the Chromecast is always streaming perfectly regardless of what's going on with our wireless network.Easy to recommend, will work for almost any USB-C powered streaming device.
