I bought this in November 2017 for my one year old, who adores music.Since the day we first got it my toddler has carried it everywhere. It has been on at least 5 hours per day, every day. It has been dropped at least 2-3 times per day, and on one memorable afternoon the toddler decided to experiment with throwing it. It has made two long car rides and a cross-country flight.Today, the "down" volume button finally stopped working, so we will have to retire it.I think a 4-month lifespan is actually pretty impressive, considering what it costs and the extreme punishment we've put it through. If it can survive 4 months with my kid then it will probably last forever for an adult.There are a few flaws we have found with this player, but they are rather toddler-specific:1) When the battery is low, the speaker loudly proclaims "LOW BATTERY, PLEASE CHARGE." If you are a tiny human who carries this in your tiny hands everywhere you go, this can be very startling and cause you to fall down.2) Speaking of turning down the music, it's a little tricky to get the volume to the lowest setting without muting it entirely, and I think that might be why our volume-down button wore out.3) The loop at the top, where the clip attaches, is a little on the flimsy side and tore after about 1 month of surreptitious chewing.4) The two halves of the player have just started to come apart a little when the player is dropped. Honestly I don't think this is likely to be a problem for a normal user, since (as I said above) ours has been dropped multiple times a day, every day, for months.Over all this has been the best thing I've ever bought for my kid and I've recommended it to many other people. Excellent little speaker!
