Overpriced and flawed - not worth it.
Well, I bought this as a replacement for the standard Orient hollow end link bracelet.I wasn't too keen on paying too much, but I thought 'you get what you pay for' and expected something of high quality. The bracelet certainly is - in parts - an upgrade but in other parts it's a sideways step.I'm pretty underwhelmedPOSITIVESSolid end linksscrew in linksEasy to fit and fits nicely onto the Orient caseMachined clasp componentsTapers to the clasp.Comfortable to wearNEGATIVESSome clasp components aren't great - tinny and rattlyThe bracelet rattles too muchThe bracelet scratches, scuffs and marks very easilyThe individual links are INFERIOR to the standard Orient ones in terms of touch, feel and finishing- the actual links on the standard bracelet are superior and have better finishing.(As shown in the attached photo) the bracelet exhibits an unattractive gap where the final meets the solid end link and no amount of tightening the screw closes this - and it spoils the lines of the watch.OVERALLIt's simply not worth the money and the wait.If the makers can address the issues highlighted above then that's good - as the Orient Ray II is a lovely watch, and it holds it's own against far more expensive watches -I'm a regular contributor and seller/buyer on WUS - and have a couple of decades worth of experience with fine watches - and own a Breguet Type XX, Omega Speedmaster and Grand Seiko amongst other watches - and am familiar with quality watch components - including those on watches at the price point matching that of the Orient Ray + cost of this bracelet (Seiko Presage/Sarb range) and the Seiko bracelets (with solid end links and machined clasps) are far superior to this.So beware unless you can buy this for at least £30 less than charged, fit a Bonetto Cinturini italian rubber Dive Strap on this instead (available on Amazon and it feels and smells (vanilla) gorgeous) for £28 - the bog standard Orient bracelet would've been fine if it tapered and had a machined clasp - I wonder if the Orient Mako USA II bracelet fits this?
