CGE Illuminated Globe 30cm Dual Map Earth Tones

Bought this globe for my grandsonHe is very happy with it the information he is getting from is very educational and he uses it at night as a bedroom light. The colour is taste full. We would recommend it. I thought it a little pricey.

Smart globe. The design is clear and attractive, and the text, such as place names, is easily readable. It is stable on the base, and is quite sturdily built. The light is reasonably evenly distributed when turned on. Although I can easily use the globe with just background light, I can also read the place names with just the internal light of the globe. I am well pleased: now I can find out where all those places are that keep being mentioned on the news!

The globe of fine out of the box but I decided to replace the standard bulb with a “smart” LED bulbThe ability to change from white to “sky blue” on Alexa in my opinion makes the sea more pleasing, if I’m watching a movie with reduced lighting, the “blue” is more restful and of course you can alter how bright it is, all whilst still being able to switch to white if you wish to look in more detailas I said, it’s good out of the box but change the bulb and it gives it much more flexibility as a decorative item

Beautiful globe! Exactly what we wanted. Bought it as a Christmas present for our 6 years old son, 6 weeks later he still enjoys it. We decided to buy this globe as we thought it is better to see the mountains, the deserts and so on than each country a different colours, he learns more about the world.

This is a wonderful globe and our Grandson was delighted with it. The only downside is the sturdiness of the base is not the best particularly for a children’s bedroom. We found we had to somehow get some weight applied to the base so it didn’t topple over on touching the globe. However once that was sorted it has been a great purchase.

1. On arrival the globe is disassembled. I found it very difficult to get the top and bottom of globe to line up correctly and stay together and then fit into the frame. There is no notch or anything to aid the lining up and most times when I got it into the frame the two halves had moved over each other and were no longer lined up.2 As many have reported, the base is quite inadequate for stability.3 The web description is incorrect. It implies that what is seen normally is the political countries plus cities and that the relief is shown when the light is turned on. In fact it is the relief which is shown normally. When the light is put on, the relief just shows more clearly UNLESS the light in the room is very dim in which case you can also see the countries. In this case the central line where the two halves are put together is very obvious.Bearing in mind that it is plastic throughout - and apparently fairly fragile - I feel it is over-priced.It is, however, quite attractive as it stands alone.

I ordered this world globe for my grandson whilst he was visiting all his extended family in the UK. It arrived promptly and safely in two halves for easy transport which was perfect. My grandson could take it back on the flight to New Zealand and a whole new learning experience would open up for my seven year old grandson. The illuminated globe is wonderful for curious little minds that do not want to go straight to sleep at night and acts as a night light. An easy to renew light bulb. An on/off button for the light. This globe will give many hours of enjoyment and learning for many years and into adulthood. Sturdy and good value for money. A wonderful little product.

Lovely for the kids! Bigger than others I've seen which was a big selling point for me. It also comes with a mains lead - another important plus over competitors. The globe has a lovely silky smooth texture which my children love touching so it encourages them to interact with the globe . However the bulb has failed after only 24hrs of being in my house. I will be contacting the seller to see how we can resolve this.Super helpful speedy response to my issue and clear concise instructions. I now know how to change the bulb without fear of breaking the whole globe! It was only a blown bulb, easily fixed and just unlucky.
