Made Eucalyptus Lavender & Rose soap. Easy to use and best to clean the pot immediately after using to avoid the soap drying and sticking.

I used it for the first time today and made 5 bars of soap using the soap base that came with the unit and also a pound of Halloween shaped wax melts. It worked great! I don't know about the quality of the soap base yet, but we'll see. It heats up very quickly and is stable. The metal pitcher holds a lot of material. The stirring spoon was also very handy and I put alcohol in the little spray bottle and it made all the air bubbles on the soap vanish with a single spritz. Clean up was very easy. Great kit.

i've made soap in this kit twice now; i'm making soap just for myself, not as a business. it's easy as pie. i find the gloves completely unnecessary. the spoon is, however, very useful. it doesn't get hot, even if you leave it in the pot as the soap is melting. the exterior of the pot only gets warm/hot where there is melted soap - the heat does NOT travel upward or to the handle so that's a good thing. i haven't had a problem cleaning this pot as others have mentioned, but i do clean it with hot water (and, ironically soap) immediately after i pour the melted soap into my mold.the only reason i don't give this kit 5 stars is because of the way the pot sits on the hot plate. there is no ridge or anything to hold the pot into place on the hot plate. if you're not careful you could easily knock the pot off the hot plate and spill hot melted soap all over your counter and floor. so far i haven't had any accidents, but it is something to consider, especially if you want to make soap with your child.
