I ruined my smaller one so I went bigger! Very happy with this one.

Just what I wanted for my desk. It looks great, lies flat perfectly. It feels as though it protects my desk, especially when I need to trim paper or cards with Xacto knife. It feels as durable as any such mat I’ve owned before.

This cutting mat arrived in a flat box alright but without any cushion so it was still curled. It did flatten out easily enough but my pictures show it isn’t a self healing mat. I did a few cuts with a standard fabric cutting rotary cutter but it was marred to begin with with an odd spot as seen in the first picture. The third picture shows an actual break in the surface this new mat shouldn’t have had. I’m returning it but because I like the weight of it I’m going to order another one.Update: got a replacement in new condition so it’s fine, nice cutting surface. My only real problem with it IS the color, lol. I thought black might be a good choice for a quilting room with so much color but in fact when using any dark color I cannot define the edges under my rulers. I would send it back but it is unique in its weight and size—be aware it is actually not 24 x 36 but marked 23 x 35 with less than a 1/4” extension outside the grid on each side so never reaches 24x36 as advertised. It fits my table better but it is disconcerting. The measurements do however match all my rulers so they are accurate as far as I can determine.

Just what I needed. I sandblast glass and do a lot of picking vinyl and cutting with exacto knives and rearranged my living room furniture during covid to use as my out of studio office and workspace. I have several nice pieces of furniture and covered my work desk with two of these, the 24”x36” and a 24”x18”. They fit well and gave me a really nice desk top to work on. I just ordered a bunch more to cover several other tabletops in my “living/working room” because not only are they great to work on, you can’t cut through them and they protect well. They also look fab! Very cool and somehow it makes me more organized to work on grids. I’m a big graph paper fan, so this worked for my poor unorganized artist’s brain’s need to get my paperwork done. It’s a miracle! Highly recommend for non linear thinkers! Very sturdy, my cats like them but can’t hurt them as well. The ones I’m using on my long narrow table will double as placemats so they satisfy at least three different needs all in one! This is an initial review, being written just after having received the product.Basic summary is that this is a nice looking mat that seems like it will stand up to lots of use.It has the makings of a fine product that will hold up against much more expensive brands. Certainly a value for the money.The mat is a rich matte black, no sheen or reflective quality to it. The pictures taken were done with a flash on.The white print is vibrant and the lines are crisp.Overall it looks very nice.The surface is smooth with a very slight texture providing for a good grip on a smooth desk/tabletop. It does not easily slide.The product seems very durable and sturdy. It is surprisingly thick at just less than .25" and is rather stiff but certainly does have some give/bend.The cutting surface is hard but has some give/bounceback.It has not yet been tested for self-healing properties.The mat has a slight warp (presumably from shipping) as it was sent in a box much too big for it with inadequate packing materials. I do not believe this to be the manufacturer's fault as it was shipped by Amazon.I will update if/when the mat settles and the warp corrects.The true measurements are 17.75" X 23.5"The printed rulers are accurate.

Love that it's double sided. Imperial on one side and inches on the other. Lines are clearly marked and accurate! Matches my rulers exactly. Super heavy / thick which means it stays in place when cutting. The white on black works like high contrast standing out sharply with fabric or paper on top of it. Love it much more than yellow on green, red on white, or grey on greys - all of which I have in different sizes. I use rotary cutters and exacto knives on cutting mats for quilting, layered paper art, and model making and I can't wait to use it a bunch and see how "self healing" it is. Both sides have different layouts of angles which makes it easy to find just the right spot to be able to cut accurately. Why did I wait so long to buy a mat with imperial gridlines? Should have purchased one years ago! Metric is so much simpler than inches.

The price was on point and the durability on the mat is great. This mat is heavier than most I've purchased in the past it stays in the place once laid on my sewing table.

I have given a 4 star review as I not used the mat yet. On appearances the mat is good value it doesn’t slip, well made and seems to a good self healing mat. It’s made by a Canadian company so that should be good. My only gripe is that it only comes in black, a bright cheery colour would make it the bee’s knee’s.

I bought this mat as others had not lasted long. Although it was slightly more expensive it is well worth the difference. It is well marked, I particularly liked the diagonal lines and the protractor for cutting angles. It is sturdy, clearly printed on both sides and heals well.

A great product, no cut marks from use. Worth the extra money.

Solid, strong, as advertised. Was worried it may be thin and not actually protect, but it's a tough item. Very happy.

Honestly bought this as a impulse buy for my warhammers. Didn't even read the specs before I bought it. It arrived and I was surprised to see the size of it. One of them scenarios where you bought it and not only do they deliver they exceed your expectations. 100 percent happy with this, however I must refrain on amazon shopping whilst under the influence of alcohol.
