The first time I ordered this Z5 meter, Amazon sent the wrong one (Z1). A call to Amazon and 2 days later they sent the correct one and told me to keep the original shipment or donate it. I plan on giving the original to a co-worker.The Z5 seems to work well for my quick reference purposes and is compact and easy to use. Very user friendly. The auto range feature is a time saver as the meter can detect if you are testing AC volts, DC volts, or if there is no voltage present, it automatically switches to ohms / continuity tests.One important improvement of the Z5 over the Z1 is the fact that is accepts industry standard banana size test probes!At the price point I paid, I doubt there is a better bargain on the market.I have tested it’s readout results compared to a trusted Fl**e and it is very close to my trusted meter readings.If you are in the market for a pocket size meter that is appropriate for quick tests, GO FOR IT!I have no idea about it’s durability or longevity at this point, but I will update my review as appropriate.

I am very excited with it. Complete tool, works very well and I can put it in my pocket.

I got this mostly for continuity circuit tracing. Its fine for that purpose but its a pain to use. The issue is that it automatically shuts down quickly, so I have to turn it on, then re-select the continuity function, or what ever function I've been using after a brief pause to find the next trace or whatever. Related to this is the backlight which has to be manually turned on each time as well. Between the two this thing wastes a lot of time when making repeated measurements or tracing a circuit board.If I had it to do over I'd purchase one that stays on for at least several minutes before automatically shutting down, and with an automatic backlight.

I accidentally snapped this in half trying to figure out how the battery case opens. Never got to use it. But if it helps anyone else, the battery case just slides off if you pull sideways. Oops.

This meter is very easy to use, I've had testers before that we're difficult to operate because they have so many buttons. This one is easy with two different buttons & an auto feature that is quick, handy & accurate.

This meter worked great until the batteries died. After replacing batteries it would not come on. I have no idea why.

Exactly what I needed. A great value for the money. I find it much easier to use than one with two long leads. It seems that there is never a convenient place to set the meter for viewing while manipulating the two leads. This puts the display write at my fingertips.
