Over New England

The gold standard in its genre.
I grew up in Maine, went to college in Boston and worked in New Hampshire a very long time ago. I have lived in Texas for the past fifty years. To me this video is like reliving my youth and glory days. It would be too sappy to say all the flying around is like an out of body experience so I'll avoid doing so. I have watched it many times usually with the sound turned off and crank up some floating music like Vangelis's "Hymne", "Chariots of Fire" and the original Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" theme and some ethereal Enya album cuts.Technical aspects notwithstanding this is as good as it can get. The alternative is that every time there is a new achievement in videothey would have to go out and re-shoot everything. Then it would cost $200 for the Blu-Ray DVD, and everybody would complain about the outrageous price.

This film takes us back to old cherished memories of growing up in one of the most beautiful areas of our country
This PBS video is one of our favorites. We are transplanted New Englanders living on the West Coast. This film takes us back to old cherished memories of growing up in one of the most beautiful areas of our country. The aerial pictures of New England are breathtaking. Sound track is terrific, reflective, and inspiring. We think the film captures the essence of New England's villages and landscapes.

Oh, How I Miss My New England Home
This was a birthday gift for someone who was raised and lived in Connecticut for most of her life. She speaks of traveling throughout New England as a child, teenager and adult quite frequently. She was thrilled with this gift, and I know she will watch this DVD over and over again while sipping a cup of tea.

I used to have the VHS version of this video years ago so I am glad to have it on DVD
I lived in Connecticut for six years (I wish I was still there but that is another story) and drove around New England whenever I had the chance. This video is an incredible tribute of the New England I miss so much. I used to have the VHS version of this video years ago so I am glad to have it on DVD.

EXCELLENT VIDEO
Quality of the video and accompanying music was excellent in all regards. THE ONLY COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE IS THAT I WAS SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR BLURAY, and Amazon chose to mix this video in with the other blurays, so I chose to buy it, thinking (and my fault for not looking closer) that it was a Bluray also. It was not. But it is of good enough quality that I kept it anyway.

I started my travel DVDs with this item, and ...
I started my travel DVDs with this item, and have never put it beyond my reach. It reminds me of a 1967 May island trip, to the land of pebble beaches, fog, and roaring surf waves!

OVER NEW ENGLAND DVD
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS DVD! I WAS AWARE THAT IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE IN BLU-RAY BUT WAS UNHAPPY WHEN IT ALSO WAS NOT IN WIDESCREEN!! THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THIS FACT ON THE LISTING FROM WHICH I ORDERED! I OWN SEVERALBLU RAY WIDESCREEN TITLES FROM THIS SERIES AND THIS WAS A SAD DISCOVERY WHEN IT ARRIVED THREE DAYS LATER THAN THE ESTIMATED TIME OF DELIVERY!! IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE MOST CAUTIOUS ABOUT CHECKING ALL INFORMATION AS TO WHETHERANY ITEM I ORDER IS WIDESCREEN AND IN BLU RAY ON THE INTERNET CATALOG DESCRIPTION. I OWN A 55 INCH HIGH DEF TV ANDWANT MY DVDS TO BE IN THE BEST POSSIBLE ASPECT AND VISUAL DEFINITION. I SUGGEST THIS SORT OF INFORMATION SHOULDALWAYS BE SUPPLIED ON YOUR PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS SO AS NOT TO UPSET YOUR CUSTOMERS. YOUR PRICING IS FAIR BUT ACTUALLYNOT WORTH THE PRICE IF THE PRODUCT DOES NOT BE AS EXPECTED.
