High quality Airbrush makeup kit for beautiful results!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have lots of experience with airbrush, have taken classes, used it on brides, etc. so I hope you can trust my opinion. This Airbrush makeup kit excels other personal airbrush kits I have used and is the best price. I love the colors and the makeup is the best I have used. The main reason people are attracted to airbrush makeup is for the idea of looking flawless and like you have perfect, real, skin. Not cakey, overly made up skin that is fake and obvious- but real skin. This gives me that look, covers my spots and my skin feels like it can breathe and I am getting the better coverage that I was getting with my conventional liquid foundations. It's faster to apply, less clean-up than washing my foundation brushes every day and gives a beautiful finish that actually LASTS all day long (unlike the promises of the other foundations I'd been using, none of which proved true for me. The luminous finish will give your skin a nice skin glow. This finish does not look shiny, just perfect. If it feels wet on your skin when you spray it on, you are either spraying too much, putting the airbrush gun too close, using a pressure that is too high, or a combination of these...remember, hold the gun 4-6 inches from your face, smallish, circular motions, and a pressure that is comfortable for your desired coverage. The trick to more coverage without it looking heavy is to follow the above technique, but allow it to set a bit between LIGHT layers! I honestly cannot bring myself to use my old foundations anymore; they feel too gloopy and thick on my skin. With this makeup, I do not get that feeling at all. I have gotten so many compliments on my complexion and my facial make-up in general, although I still apply my eye and lip make-up with traditional brushes.

I hate using a liquid foundation as they feel so heavy ...
I have never used an airbrush system before purchasing this one, so I don't really have anything to compare it with. I don't leave reviews very often and am skeptical when one is left when they simply have not had the product very long to see how it works over a longer period of time. I purchased this unit in December and have been using it for 3 months.I turned 50 this year and have been using a powder foundation, but needed to start using something else just to cover up some of the imperfections in my skin that come with aging. I hate using a liquid foundation as they feel so heavy and thick and seem to really settle in the creases.I have been very pleased with this unit. It is easy to use and clean. I do use the Photofinish primer before I apply the makeup. The foundation is not heavy, covers well, and is inexpensive compared with other brands. The key is to really find the combination of colors to match your skin tone. I did try another brand of foundation that was more expensive and didn't like it nearly as well. It was thicker and felt heavier on my skin and I seemed to use about twice as much (probably because it was thicker).I clean the unit after every use with Createx air brush cleaner. It seems to work really well and I've had no problems with the unit. It only adds a couple of extra minutes to clean it. Createx is cheaper than the PhotoFinish brand. I anticipate that the 4 ounce bottle will last me 4 - 5 months.

If you want the full scoop on this product, read my short novel haha
This is a long review, but I felt the need to explain exactly how I came to love this far more than any other product I've used. I love this so so much.Regular foundation just wouldn't work for me. It would start to separate on my face a couple hours into my day and turn orangey, no matter what brand I tried. Around noon I would start to feel like one giant oil painting and I couldn't touch my face at all lest I wipe away a spot. That is no way to live!! I don't even have excessive oil. I think my skin just hated full strength foundation. Airbrush foundation is mixed with a thinner.I had been thinking about air brush for a few years, but it's a daunting idea. Can civilians use this menacing product?? CAN THEY?! *nail biting ensues*Then I was asked to be a bridesmaid and the mere thought of trying to get a gorgeous look with the pathetic result of foundation and not look like a greasy oompah-loompah in photos was haunting. I had my makeup professionally done for my wedding and it still didn't look flawless. So I ordered this after doing extensive research and everyone saying that this was the best one. It came extremely fast- within the week! All the colors were pleasantly close my skin tone and I figured if one didn't work, a combination would. There was a cute carrying case and a weird, plastic, clear eyedropper thing that I still don't know the use for included. hahaMy husband, who is far more mechanical than I am, attached the hose and set up the gun for me in under a minute- so a simple streamlined design is definitely a great feature . I plugged it in and turned it on. He listened to the motor and said to leave it on a higher setting, as the motor was designed to run at a higher setting. A lower setting would only strain it. I want to prolong the life of this gun, so I turned it up until the motor settled into a nice little hum instead of a low pitch grinding whir. I thought, "What the heck, I'll spray some on," even though I was wearing day old greasy makeup. Don't expect it to look good if you do this... :PSo I showered, removed all my makeup and tried again on a fresh face. I was just goofing off, so I didn't even bother with the primer or concealer. I used the "fairly light" shade and was impressed at the coverage. Mind you, I was awkward with the gun and didn't know how to maintain the same distance from hand to face for the whole thing. But I was also impressed with how smooth it felt on my skin. I kept rubbing my hand on my cheek after it had dried and just marveling at how it did not rub off- I was slightly dismayed when I peered in the mirror and saw that each and every facial hair was more pronounced though. Also, I had been very generous around the nose area and when I looked up my nostril, each nose hair had a nice coating of foundation. haha! I looked a little furry up close. This was only my second attempt, so I wasn't too worried. I applied eye shadow, mascara, lipstick- the works. I looked fantastic! Then I walked into another room with fluorescent lighting and looked in a mirror and realized just how pale I was. I had been far too heavy handed with the air brush gun, holding it merely 2 or 3 inches away from my face and using it in a jerky, newbie way. The bathroom has yellow lighting, so I didn't notice how deathly pale it was. It had still been fun though.Over the weekend, I used it 3 more times, learning to transition it around my face smoothly and evenly and even using darker colors on my cheek for a slight contour look and to tone down that overall vampire white. I tried it with the primer and concealer and blush. The first time I wore it out was a disaster though. All evening I felt the area around my nose was sore. When I went into the ladies room, I was dismayed that the makeup had moved away from my nose and now was very red. You can't just smooth it out. Once it's on, it is on. You try to smudge it with your finger and you're just going to make a very noticeable splotch. When I say it was red... it was RED. I almost looked like I was bleeding around my nose. Also, the pores on my nose had opened up, almost as though gasping for air. They were the biggest I had ever seen them - about the size of pinheads.Embarrassed, I went home and washed my face. It was feeling very dry and since I had always dealt with too much oil from my other foundations, this was a strange problem for me to have. I cleaned my pores with micellar water and rubbed Argan oil into my face and went to bed. When I woke up, my face was calmed down and didn't feel sore or chapped.Several more attempts and the same thing happened. Note: I had been using the airbrush gun and washing my face A LOT over the course of 4 days just trying to get it down pat. It's going to take a toll if you don't hydrate properly afterwards- something I wasn't in the habit of doing.Frustrated, I began to use the foundation more sparingly around the nose area, also first rubbing in a few drops of Argan oil and really great pore minimizer. The result was a smoother face, the facial hair laying down better and my nose staying happy. So, all that to say that through about a week and a half of trial and error, I realized that you need a clean, but moist base to begin with. The beauty of airbrush is the instant drying and even coverage, but because it's so dry, your face will crack around healing blemishes and creases like your smile lines and definitely around the inner eye area. In fact, don't even really spray anything deliberately around your eyes. Some will carry over from the overall application, so they'll get plenty.I would suggest to hold the gun even farther than the suggested 6 inches and concentrate more on cheek, temple, chin and forehead. Use sparingly in the middle area of your face e.g your nose and inner eye area. This is the routine I have settled into and it only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete my makeup.step 1: Rub a good, 'dry' oil into your face. I like argan oil the best. And strap on a cloth headband to protect your hair.step 2: Apply a pore minimizer. Apply mostly to the area under your eyes and on your nose- these are your biggest pore spots.step 3: Put a few drops of primer into the cup and spray all over your face and neck. About 7 drops should do. It smells really good! Let the air from the gun help you dry it.(I did stop using the photo finish primer after the argan oil and pore minimizer worked so great for me)step 4: Put a few drops of the lilac concealer into the cup. 4 or 5 drops work for me, but you can use it in increments of 2 drops at a time so you don't end up wasting any, adding more as you need. Hover the gun over any blemishes and get a good feel of where the air is blowing because that's where the makeup is going to land. Hold the gun about 6 inches away. It will take a few tries to get the hang of pressing the trigger without moving the gun at all and releasing it without making the stream too opaque. All you want is a reduction of the redness. I apply it more heavily to my inner cheek/under eye, chin, and center of my forehead. The middle of your face should be brighter than the outer face. But again, use sparingly around the eyes. The skin under your eyes is the thinnest, most delicate region. You don't want this area to look dry at all or it will age you.I have even used a heavier cream concealer first when I had a very bad breakout and then the lilac photo finish concealer over top to tone down the tan coloring as my skin has pink undertones. This does defeat a minimalist makeup look though as it's a far heavier coating. But don't worry! you will perfect this and soon it'll be the fastest way to apply makeup! But if you apply a concealer, or blush, or bronzer, use before the foundation. You can't use it afterwards.step 5: Using about 2 drops of the "medium tan" foundation shade, I apply a few contour lines along my cheek and outer forehead.step 6: Using just 1 drop of the blush, I apply it lightly to tops of my cheeks, just above the contour line. I hold the gun pretty far away here, as I don't want the overall impression to be PINK. And I only use 1 drop because that's more than enough to give you a healthy glow on both sides.step 7: Make sure everything has dried. It looks best done in thin layers, so use the gun to help you dry everything.I drop about 6 or 7 drops of the "fairly light" shade into the cup. This is my main foundation color, but now that I've covered up blemishes and added contour and blush, my face will have dimension, but be one, smooth shade. I hold the gun pretty far back, farther than you would think you should, and instead of moving my hand around in little circular motions as the instructions read, I slowly rotate my wrist and move my face into the stream as needed. I apply it to my ear lobes and neck as well for full coverage. This doesn't feel bad at all and I hardly notice it's there. I prefer also moving the gun in downwards strokes, as going upwards or circular is only going to accentuate your facial hair (I do move upwards when applying the contour lines though). I hold the gun so far back because I want the foundation to look light and not opaque.step 8: Shake the shimmer bottle really well. I store it upside down because it has a bad habit of settling into the bottom. I apply 1 or 2 drops to the cup and carefully create a line up the center of my nose. I spray a teeny bit to the upper/outer cheek area and above my eyebrows. Also a small bit to my cupid's bow. This effect is called "strobing" and it gives you a really dewy, glamorous look.step 9: Wait for about 2 or 3 minutes for the foundation and shimmer to dry. In this time, I clean my gun. Is it imperative that you clean your gun as soon as you are done using it or it WILL clog and will become useless to you. I turn on the hot water and fill the cup up and spray it all out, using a q-tip to rub down the walls and remove any excess foundation. I run water through the gun about 3 or 4 times. I carefully remove the tiny screw on tips and use the cotton swabs to clean them. Beware of the tiny needle - you bend or break this and you're screwed.step 10: Once everything is dry, I dip a fluffy brush into the setting powder and apply a pretty good amount under each eye. I don't blend it out yet. I apply my eyeshadows and eyeliner. THEN I blend it out. The loose powder will collect any flakes or stray eye powder and flick away when you start to blend the setting powder out - also, it will give your under eye area a much brighter look. I then apply the powder all over, again stroking down to keep those face hairs pointing in the right direction. Make sure to apply to neck too.Step 11: Use a good makeup setting spray! you're on your way.Pros: easy set up. streamlined design. quiet motor. even coverage. easy to use. great foundation shades that aren't yellow or orange at all. Long lasting. Doesn't rub off. Washes off well with makeup remover. looks professional and well made.Cons: can be drying if not used with moisturizer. will clog if not cleaned diligently and correctly. takes practice.I can't believe I wrote such a long review, but I don't want people to shy away from this product because the instructions are vague or it sounds daunting. It's really just a series of layers and steps that once perfected will take just 15 to 20 minutes to do. But I promise you, the end result is stunning and worth it. I will never go back to regular foundation and beauty blenders.Best of luck!

Probably the worst I've used
I purchased based on high star reviews. I've been using airbrush makeup for years and decided to try this brand. Probably the worst I've used. Do not waste your $. Even with using primer, this is super drying and makes your face feel tight. It also peels away really easily, especially around eye area and nose (anywhere you have creases), as if cracking. It makes fine lines look worse, since it's so drying. I tried it three times and before I was out the door had to wash my face and start over with my old, reliable brand. Maybe is you have flawless, oily skin this might work - but for everyone else - I'd use another product.
