MelnorHose Mender; Fits 3/8" or 1/2" Hoses

Don't over tighten or you'll strip the plastic threads.

These worked as expected, and Amazon delivered them very quickly. Very pleased.

If you use the 3/8" Miracle-Gro Smart Soaker or 3/8" Element SoakerPro soaker hose, I would not waste my time buying this Melnor Hose Mender; Fits 3/8" or 1/2" Hoses as it does not fit the 3/8" soaker hose. I even tried the previous poster's idea to heat the hose first. I also tried heating the hose slightly and gently trying to expand the hose opening. All the soaker hose does is split apart to accommodate the Melnor Hose Mender's very hard plastic connector tube that is supposed to fit inside both ends of the split apart soaker hose, but which has the same diameter or a slightly larger diameter than the outside diameter of the soaker hose.I could almost fit the 3/8" soaker hose INSIDE the Melnor Hose Mender's hard plastic connector tube's opening rather than vice-versa. Any attempt to twist in or push the hard plastic connector tube into the soaker hose just continued to split the soaker hose trying to accommodate the hard plastic connector tube.I thought I might find a narrower and more flexible tube to insert within both ends of the broken soaker hose and use the two green ends that come with the Melnor Hose Mender to hold everything in place. However, those two green ends that are supposed to screw tightly on either side of the repaired hose have an inside diameter of ¾”. The soaker hose is so much narrower it swims inside those two ends and they do not function as designed.The ‘Melnor Hose Mender; Fits 3/8" or 1/2" Hoses’ product may work to repair a traditional 3/8" garden hose, but I cannot see how it would work on any 3/8" Miracle-Gro Smart Soaker or 3/8" Element SoakerPro soaker hose. It was a waste of money to repair a soaker hose.

This is a very sturdy hose mender. Our hose it 3/8" and we couldn't find one to fit. This was our last chance but it was too loose. Seller refunded promptly without any questions. I'll be buying a bigger hose next. :)

This size of mender is not available in stores, and I really needed it very badly. It works and it saved me from having to buy another garden hose.

I used this product to patch a 3/8 inch soaker hose. It was a little tight for it so I heated the hose with a lighter to soften it up then it slid on with a good deal of effort. It would be a very easy fit on a 1/2 inch hose.So far, so good.

To big for a soaker hose but works fine for a normal waterhose
