it was not what I expected
I received the product in excellent conditions, thanks for that. I installed the software and it worked but I had a little problem: never use power cable for my MIDI controller and I had to invent one (first negative point of this version of the PUC, not power source :-( ).Second negative point: In my first live performance, using the PUC, as there are several signs of WIFI in the place, directly stopped working. I do not know if the interference had something to do but I had to remove the batteries and reset the unit to return to work, very embarassing situation!!!.Apart from that, all good.Best regards!!!

Works but is a hassle
It's okay. I returned it because it wasn't really made clear how much is involved in getting it set up every time you use it. I just saw a kickstarter for the new version, so maybe that one will be a little more user friendly! But I could still see this being useful for some people.

This device is just amazing : you can now play Moog Synthetiser on Ipad (iMini apps developped by Arturia) from your Yamaha Clavinova Piano and your Ipad Screen, that's fantastic !

Sadly, it doesn't work
would love to love this product, but it doesn't work. The wifi connection is very flaky, it is dropped every 10-15 minutes. Using it with an iPhone it stops working when the phone rings. That will make a great impression in the middle of a show! Basically I've found it to be completely unreliable due to the connectivity issues, absolutely unuseable in a show.Still searching for a good wireless midi option.

Brings wireless MIDI to iOS
I’ve had a good experience with the PUC. It lets a MIDI device, like a MIDI controller, wirelessly engage with an iOS device. I use it with a second generation iPad. I also have a first gen iPad- no luck there. The second gen works well. No lag that I could detect. The only trick is remembering to switch the iPad’s Wi-Fi to the PUC (and off the home network). My experience has been that when the PUC is turned back off, the iPad switched back to the home network on its own. Very simple. And because it doesn’t use the iPad’s connector port, you can keep the iPad plugged in while your musical hat is on. So, plug your MIDI device into the PUC; set the iOS device’s Wi-Fi to the PUC, and you’re all set!

Horrible. Does NOT work with a Mac
Horrible. Does NOT work with a Mac, only with an iPad or iPhone. {roved you can get the thing to work. The midi cables they send don't even fit the device and they send no charging cable. Don't waste your money. Total ripoff.

Great wireless MIDI solution for iPads except the 1st gen iPad
I love wireless devices. My home network, printers, document scanners are all wireless and the HDMI connection between the projector and the blu-ray player is also wireless. But I did not think of having the MIDI connection device gone wireless due the problem like the latency. And I found the Zvix PUC wireless MIDI connection device and here are my thoughts. As the product name says, this is mainly a device for iOS. But it also works for PC and Mac. The one thing that I want to mention is that if you are a user of the first generation iPad, you are out of luck. I have one and could not install the PUC Connect app worked as a driver for iPad since it requires an iOS version of 6 or later and the latest iOS supports the first generation iPad is the version 5. And the GarageBand app requires iOS 7 or later so in any case, you have no way to use this device on the first version iPad. But both the PUC Connect app and the GarageBand worked with the PUC flawlessly once you have a later version of iPad that can install iOS 7. I tested on the iPad Air and this was the most hassle-free way of connecting my MIDI controllers to the iPad. I did not feel any latency and it just worked great.I also wanted to use the PUC on my Mac and installed the driver provided by manufacturer on their web page for free. The PUC was recognized as a CoreMIDI device and once again, I did not experience any latency. Kudos to Zivix. The PUC came with a MIDI cable and batteries and I liked that.I have three portable MIDI controllers that I carry one of it anywhere and my plan was that the PUC goes with this controller and I enjoy the wireless freedom. But there was a problem in my plan. All my 25 key and 61 key MIDI controllers are USB-powered, thus if I want to use the PUC, I have to carry a separate USB power adapter for the MIDI controllers. If I still choose to get the power for the MIDI controllers from Mac or PC, that defeats the purpose using the PUC, since the USB connection is also served as a MIDI interface. And I found out that the MiniUSB connection on the PUC is only for power. If there is a device like the PUC that also can provide the USB power to the controller, that would be awesome and will be the perfect wireless MIDI solution.Overall, the PUC is probably the best solution using your MIDI devices on iPads (or iPhones) and I deduct one star for the USB power inconvenience described above and the price that I think is little high for a MIDI interface. I am happy that I have one more wireless solution added to my world.

A great product that feels like a stepping stone to greater products
Here's my experience with the PUC. First of all, it's a snappy looking little thing. Out of the box all I had to do was install a battery and turn it on. I plugged it into the back of my 1988 Casio Tone Bank (worth the price alone!). It IS a MIDI connector, so if you don't have any MIDI devices, no need to purchase this. You should know that you have to download the PUC app from the App Store. You'll also need something like Garage Band, which you can get for free from the App Store, too.The next step was a bit surprising. I had to "discover" the device by going to my network settings, which, of course, meant that I lost my wireless internet connection. Not a huge deal, but I'd have to go back to my settings and reselect my wireless internet connection to get it back, which brings me to my only complaint: if I leave the PUC turned out, it would continually and automatically flip my wireless back to the PUC. After playing with it for awhile on my iPad, I switched my wireless back to my internet. I was downstairs on the couch when suddenly my internet stopped working. I checked the settings to find it'd been switched back to the PUC. This happened two or three times before I finally turned it off. I don't know if my experience is unique, but it is a bit of an annoyance. As I mentioned in my title, it feels like a device that will serve as a stepping stone to even more effective devices. What will those devices be? I have no idea. But I'm fairly certain that one day we'll be able to think of a melody and project it to an electronic device. Won't that be neat?
