Hertel Snowboard Wax Kit

This was my first time waxing my own snowboard and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. I will never go back to getting it done at the ski shop or with a boyfriend. This kit is affordable but does the job wonderfully. I thought the quality of the wax was pretty good, and the scraper was decent. I did use an old triangular Burton scraper that I had lying around to finish the job as it did a better job in my opinion than the rectangular Hertel option provided. But you can't beat the little velvet bag and the huge sticker! My board rode great too... spring conditions at Mammoth with early am ice and pm slush combos... the board felt great.

With a new snowboard for the season, I ordered this little kit to handle my first wax. I used an old iron that was sitting in a closet and found that the wax melted on easily. This kit came with two small blocks of wax and one of them was more than enough to wax my 160cm board as well as my roommate's. There is enough left to probably do one more board with that block and the other is still untouched.The scraper worked great and left my edges clear of any extra wax. The buffer pad was handy as i was on a trip when I waxed and would have overlooked this if it were not included. It all fits in a handy little bag and has all you need other than the iron. Nice value to get started with if you've never waxed your own snowboard or skis before.

Unfortunately, my package did not include the plastic scraper as was advertised.

Sprayed-on wax is so much easier

This kit comes with almost everything you need to wax a board. I bought a cheap iron at the local dollar store and this wax goes on pretty easy. The scraper works well and has a notch for getting the wax off the edges. I haven't used the base cleaner yet as I already had base cleaner with a previous wipe on wax kit. I feel like this is the cheapest option out there for doing a hot wax yourself.

This will do the trick if you have the iron already and am willing to watch a tutorial to get it right. Otherwise, I'd rather just pay a little extra and get it waxed professionally. It's much more convenient and the results are better.

Product works great and comes exactly as advertised. I would even consider putting the sticker on my board if it wasn't so huge. Great buy.

Love the sticker. Everything works the way you want but the scraper isn't great.
