I like it. The first time I used it
This is the first cold brew coffee maker I've purchased. Overall, I like it. The first time I used it, I lifted the top and dumped six scoops of Christopher Bean ground coffee into the diffuser. The coffee tasted a bit weak after 24 hours, so I let it brew another 24 hours. That did the trick. It wasn't until I got to the last cup that I noticed the grounds lying in the bottom of the carafe. I had to toss the last cup away because I didn't want to drink the grounds. For the second pot, I dumped the grounds in after I filled the carafe, thinking that this might solve the problem. It didn't.This is my fault because I didn't read the instructions, which say to use coarse ground. I figured that it would be okay to use the fine ground because the mesh on the diffuser is pretty fine. I'm going to see if Christopher Bean offers a medium or course ground. If not, I'll go on a hunt for a fine mesh strainer so that I can enjoy that last cup.The reason I give the Zell Cold Brew Coffee Maker 4.5 stars out of 5 is because of the way it cleans. I wanted to remove the diffuser completely so that I could put it and the lid on the top rack of my dishwasher, but I wasn't able to detach it, and the instructions said to unscrew the cap to dump the rest of the grounds. I held the diffuser under my faucet and used warm water to clean it. Not a big deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning if you are wondering if you can clean the cold brewer in the dishwasher. The carafe is made of glass and will fit in the bottom rack of your dishwasher. The top and handle are very sturdy, and I like the way the clear top covers the diffuser so that no grinds come through while you're pouring your drink. I was able to store it in the door of my refrigerator while brewing, which helped me save space.I would recommend this brewer if you're looking to make iced coffee.

FANTASTIC
Extremely convenient for cold brewing your favorite coffee. The infuser holds ~2 oz of coffee grounds, without room for much more. This is sufficient, I think, to get a strong brew with 4 cups of water. I've used it 6 times (one 12-oz bag of coffee) and it's been fantastic. As long as the lid is properly on, then grounds are retained in the insert when dispensing coffee. The O-rings for the screw top and the lid don't leak, and I suspect they'll continue to hold up well with use. The infuser insert unlocks/detaches and locks/attaches to the top easily with a slight twist, and the used grounds have been coming out easily with just a few good shakes. The only thing I somewhat worry about is properly cleaning the infuser insert. Hot water does a decent job in the short-term, but I expect coffee lipids will build up on the mesh over time. One needs a good brush that is narrow enough and long enough to reach all the way to the bottom of the insert. Will update if this changes.

Horrible Design! Terrible Design Makes Using this Device a Major Pain! Nearly Useless!
Horrible design! Due to terrible design, it is impossible to seal the lid, thus making it impossible to shake or stir the liquid while it is steeping, because any attempt to shake or stir or gently swirl the liquid in the jar, and any attempt to invert the jar to help with the steeping process, is doomed to failure because it is impossible to seal the lid, meaning that any attempt to do any of the above-listed activities will result in liquid leaking and splashing out the top of the device.Worse, the inability to seal the lid means that if you place the jar, either while steeping, or after brewing is completed, in the fridge for storage, the liquid in the jar will be constantly exposed to, and will absorb, refrigerator odors.Even worse, the design of the center infusion filter is absoutely terrible and mindless, and the poor design allows coffe grounds placed in the filter/holder to simply float up above the level fo the liquid, thus reducing steeping/brewing efficiency and leaving the mass of grounds above water level prone to growing molds.I suggest that you avoid this product at all costs! I plan on returning my order, and, to be frank, I hate the poor design so badly that I would PAY Amazon to take it back!BTW, a recommendation: I did later try, and fall in love with, one of the other cold brewers listed here on Amazon, namely, the Takeya Deluxe Cold Brew Coffe Maker (both the 1 quart model and the 2 quart model), and these Takey cold brewers are the only ones that I use now! They are very well-designed and very well-crafted, and the design is so sensible compared to this poorly-designed Zell cold brew device!

easy & nicely sized
i think the size of this one is great, coffee to water ratio seems well planned. My bag of Caribou give directions for cold brew, if my math was right this was exactly as needed. The mesh basket holds 1/8 LB of coarse grounds for those curious. My first batch came out a bit muddy, someone advised agitating a few times during the brew, i won't do that again. 2nd brew in process, hoping to keep it clean this time. Definitely going 24 hours, 36 if i'm patient.i would like to see a seal added between the basket and the lid, not sure if you could float grounds through the crack or not. Also note this does not seal the spout from air circulation, i don't know if coffee can pick up fridge scents or not, but something to improve.
