Very high quality
Very high quality - extremely strong and well constructed with every detail covered, right down to padded handles for lifting down/up and some ties included to keep the cables tidy. It took me a good while to install it above our fireplace - best part of a day, including going out to buy a socket wrench kit (essential). Some parts of the instructions were a little tricky - but very rewarding when it's all done. I also had a little trouble installing the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 onto it, and needed to buy some adaptors. But when finished it looks amazing and descends in front of the fireplace to a perfect viewing level. Not cheap, but worth the price.

Best full motion TV mount - Extremely impressed!
I installed the mount over my fireplace in just under 1 hour by myself. The directions are not the best as there is very little text, only small pictures, but if you look at the pictures, you can figure it out.TIP: The long hex head bolt is the lock pin used when installing the TV. That was the one instruction that was not clear at all.Once everything was mounted and tension was adjust, I tested all the positions and movements. It holds exactly where it need to and can accommodate a viewing position for any seating area in that room. The tension adjustment had a wide range to accommodate light or heavy TVs. I would recommend this product to anyone mounting a TV over top of a fireplace. The only downfall is the price. It is quite expensive compared to other TV mounts, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Great pull down TV wall mount - beware soundbar under 65" TV might not fit
Pulls downs nicely and holds in place perfectly after tuning the pull tension.Swivels smoothlyVery sturdy and well done. Smooth edges, and very strong. Not hard to install if you follow the guidelines.Manual pics are quite small though. had to use my phone camera to be able to zoom for some of them.4 of the provided washers to attach the brackets are too small. Had to use spare ones.Removed a star because you can't attach a soundbar to the soundbar bracket on a Samsung 65 RU8000.Even with the 9" bracket extensions the soundbar bracket is too high (cf back pics).Contacted the seller, appreciated the fast answer. Sadly they don't have longer bracket extension.(Edit: found a Universal Sound Bar Mount Bracket for Mounting Above or Under TV extension that seems to fit)TV is a bit too far from from the wall while up (5'' at the bottom and 8'' at the top) but guess it's the price to pay to have a pull down wall mount.Smaller TV might rest closer the the wall as tightening the tension for heaviest TV prevents the mount for closing up totally. You can't go wrong with this wall mount up to 65'' TV (without a soundbar)TV bracket, with extension is 28'' long, so you can check if you may be able to attach a soundbar at the bottom of your TV.Model #39305

Love it
Bought it for my 40" Tv I wanted to upgrade. With a small tv, you still see a lot of the mount. Upgraded to a 65" TV and it works well. Also the sound bar attachment works best with a sound bar that attaches on the rear. Mine has a bottom mount, so I had to use some wood to add to the attachment to connect the two.

Updated: Where has this been my whole life?!
So let me start by saying I absolutely LOVE this mount, this is my first "fireplace mount" and I'm wondering where it has been all my life?! If you're looking for a full-motion wall mount, even if you don't have a fireplace, this mount is for you!It easily moves my 65" Vizio P series Quantum tv up, down, left and right and it STAYS where I want it anywhere in between. It is able to tilt as well. It really changes the way we use the tv. It's nice to have it safely up and out of the way sometimes, like when you're moving stuff in/out/through the room or when you have company over and just aren't using the tv, but when I want to watch it I like to have it at eye level. I had my tv on the mantle for almost a year and my neck just couldn't take it anymore! So I ordered one of these and as I stated earlier, where had this mount been all my life? The one thing that I wish the install directions were a little more clear on was the mantle depth/wall height section. I read it as "the depth of the mantle determines how high above the mantle this mount must be". But this is NOT the case. What you're actually doing is making sure you have clearance for the tv from the ceiling when it is in the UP position. What you need to do is Measure the mantle, measure your tv top to bottom, not the screen but the ACTUAL tv frame around the screen, add those 2 measurements together and refer to the manual for how much clearance you need ABOVE the tv. When I read this initially I thought I had to measure these two things and add the height to the bottom of the mount from the mantle in order to clear the mantle, this is NOT the case as you can adjust where the mount stops so it does not hit your mantle. All of this and I almost forgot to mention that I did install this on am old Lath and Plaster wall above a wood burning fireplace. I do not intend to burn anything while the tv is down and I do not know forsure where the studs are behind my wall. So, I too measurements of the entire space and used a 4.5' piece of 3/4" thick plywood attached to what I belive is 5 different studs and then mounted my mount/tv to that and the "studs" behind. I'm not a professional, time will tell if this holds!EDIT: About 10 months later and I just moved out of that house, I no longer have a fireplace but I am still using this mount! Now my snake is under the tv. I DID have the tv in the "down" position and has lots of wood fires at the same time, and never had an issue. The plywood held up to the lathe and plaster just fine. I'd still recommend this mount!
