Q: Do i use the gpl-1200 or gpl-1200pt with this?

You'll use the GPL-1200 as that is the device (transmitter) that will connect to your router. The PT is an adapter used if you don't want to loose your power outlet.

Q: Do these work with other powerline adapters or do you have to have all Nexuslink Adapters to get the system to work?

They can be used with other adapters that use the g.hn networking standard. The WILL NOT work with adapters which use the Homeplug AV or AV2 standard. Be sure to verify the type of network you are running before purchasing.
