The detector has a limited range, so you first have to narrow down the search area. I was using it to locate corner pins on the property. I couldn't find the one I was looking for, so I measured from two known points. That got me within a couple feet and finally found the pin.

I scan my lumber in my wood shop with this metal detector before I use the wood. The saw blades cost over $50 each and easily damaged when the blade hits a hidden nail. It has saved me a number of times when I use locally sawed wood.It works like a champ. The only down side is the metal detector keeps finding my wedding band while I'm holding the wood! <joke>.

I’ve used this all week while metal detecting since I’ve been off work. I just got it last Saturday. This is a game changer when pinpointing objects. Idk how I made it so long without one. I used it in water today and it started malfunctioning. When I turned it on, it started going off without any metal around it. It says it’s water resistant but I would not use it in water if I were you. I only placed it in water up to the light and only for 2-3 seconds at a time. If it wasn’t for that, I’d give this a 5 star. Real bummer because it doesn’t seem to want to work properly at all now. Get what you pay for though!

I've only used it once with my metal detector, and it pinpoints very well. It saved me a lot of unnecessary digging. Very sensitive too. I really like it. Time will tell how durable it is.

I used this thoue first day and I tell you, I could locate a piece of metal far underground with it right off (and this turned out to be an antique pet leash clip). I have no doubt this product works well.

I tried this when I was unable to locate a buried peace of metal in a large garden and it did the job. I slowly moved it over the dirt near the area I suspected and it started peeping. Dug and found what I was looking for.Small investment saved me a lot of digging.

I've tried to like this pinpointer, but sadly it's a hit and miss on how it works. It literally has to be touching something metal to go off.It looks like the name brand, but it's one of those you get what you pay for stories. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.I've used other pinpointers in the past that could detect a coin for example 2 to 3 or more inches away through the dirt. Unfortunately this isn't the case with this one.

It works far better than I though it would for the money spent. Don't listen to the negatives. OR you can spend 10 times as much and not get MUCH more.
