So guys, I am using it on a M4 - M5 fasteners, where the goopy consistency covers the tiny threads too heavily. I wanted to wipe off excess although it sets almost immediately resulting in stringy mess, (although it does the job) do you have to cool the bolt or the VC3 liquid for best results? Also what kind of solve…
I have red thread locker, I think by loc tite. How does Vibratite red compare? Same chemistry different name?
how long does the opened container last before it dries out??
I apply on 5/8 bolt only on the threads where the nut goes, I wipe off excess. Takes 2 fairly big wrenches to assemble, am I putting too much?

The new "blue"

After reading some reviews and with the recommendation of a couple of g-nsmiths, I decided to try this. I've yet to use it on a fire arm or optics, but I've used it on some outdoor power tools and on a wood chipper/shredder where the manufacturer recommended "blue" thread locker. This seems to work better. There is a delay since you'll have to wait for the product to dry before assembly. Then it somewhat feels like you're using nylon lock nuts when you're threading the nuts on. There's definitely resistance there. So far it seems to hold the nuts and bolts in place. There hasn't been a change in torque values (for the fasteners that have such requirements).

Better than the Loc…. stuff!!!

I have used every kind of thread locker over the past 30 years, as a master race engine builder, machinist, and gunsmith. For many purposes I would use this over anything else without question! Not as messy as the other top brands, it can put it on fasteners and let it sit and install later, it can be applied to fasteners that will be taken out and reinstalled multiple times and still work great!

Doesn't lock down the fastener, but maintains it tight.

Works great

Great for fireams

Worked well on my pistol optic and shotgun stock screw. Before Vibratite, I was using the usual loctite blue but that did not stand the vibrations and jolts caused by a 10mm pistol and 12 gauge high brass shotgun loads. So my optic came slightly loose and lost its zero and my semi automatic shotgun had its stock loosen after 100+ shells shot. I then tried out the vibratite on both my firearms and went back to the range at least three times to confirm that it works and is better than loctite blue. It is confirmed. 10mm pistol optic holding zero perfectly now with no evidence that the thread locker is failing. Same with the shotgun, with the stock being firmly set and secure with no evidence of it coming loose. So, vibratite is good for firearm purposes

A must have

This stuff is great. It works much better than the blue stuff in my opinion. Leaves a polymer like coating. Easy removal but stays out. It can also be reused unlike the loctite.

Highly recommended

A little harder to apply to smaller fasteners compared to Loctite blue, due to it's viscosity, but it works great.

Highly recommended if you mount scopes on rifles.

This product has a lot of potential uses. What I use it most for is to prevent rifle scope mounting ring screws from loosening due to recoil. It only takes a small drop on each screw. Even on larger calibers/higher recoil like 308 & 30-06, I have not had any screws loosen.

It's good stuff and tough!

It's the real deal. This is great threadlocker and I use it on all my pew pews. The size of this tube will last me years, easily.
